A lot of people have been posting "i want a 400HP+ 240" and they get flamed for not finding the info on there own. I have been reading the new and old posts on this forum for the past 2 months and i believe i have a pretty good understanding on what is needed to get a 240 to 400HP. But for my own clarification and for the other members who have been asking could someone give sum help.

You need a totally sweet valve cover to go fast. Without one you won't go to far. Also a BIG *** spoiler in the back will ad like 100 HP..

Hahahahaa. I honestly have no clue. lol Other than what pampadori said.

i know the stock internals are good for 300hp, thats what everyone says, but are they really strong enough to hold 400?

The equation for power is very simple.

boost + fuel. That's all you need. The hard part is the mods to support that boost and fuel.

There was just a thread yesterday going around... search secret services... or enjuku... or 409 rwp... you should find something in those terms :) i can't really go into detail regarding what is necessary, b/c i am at work and my usage is for business purposes only (they can see everything they want to)

most people get jackass responses to "how do i get 400 hp?" because its a jackass question to begin. "how do i get a million-bagillion hp?"

I also know somebody who put down 409 fwhp in a SR20DE sentra, stock internals. So if it can be done in a DE, it for sure can be done in a DET, because the DE has higher compression (9.5:1).

This is why this question keeps being repeated over and over, it seems like its never answered. I think one thread in which that question is answered properly should be made into a sticky for all to read.

I'd sticky it, but we have too many stickies. It's getting clustered. If people learned to use the button, nobody would need this thread stickied :)

for the 400whp you should look up SP Engineering, famed for the Supra 7. 2jz-GE powered FD RX7. Anyways they did a s14 with 410rwhp with daily driven capability. Although it was powered by a T-78 turbo which is capable of more. Anwyays. just some reading material.

I don't think there's a such thing as too many stickies...well maybe there is. This is a very frequently asked question, many people say search, but its rarely ever answered. I have read the post by mattback of secret services and he talks a bit about what it takes. But there is much left out. If someone were to make a sticky it should include the following:

Stock internals: yes/nowhat size turbo turbo manufacturerswhat intercooler size and manufacturerswhat size injectors along with manufacturerswhich fuel pumps would workwhat needs to be done to the ecu, does it need to be replaced or reprogrammedwhat type of clutchwhat maf is neededis it cheaper with a CA, RB or SR?? (that's still a big question for many people)is it streetable?daily driver?what kind of gas mileage should you expect?etc, etc.

edit: Oh yeah, the most important thing is...HOW MUCH WILL IT COST!

okay so the nismo 555cc injectors would be a big plus, I have the daily driver and I already had plans for a big FMI. gas is also not a proglem unless 114octine is too low. so now my question is what turbo, and which internals I am leaning towards toda internals but they are so pricy, also I am lookin for a strait quarter mile car. no streetability required.

I'd say Wiseco pistons, Pauter rods.

We can get you good pricing on Arias pistons also.

HKS headgasket, HKS cams/cam gears

There is a sticky in the 240sxforums which I wanted to get the oppinion from this board. That was stickied. I would quote from but that forum was hacked. Im sure most of you seen it.

In addition to the complete swap, it basically said install a jwt ecu, a t3/t04S turbocharger, 740 cc injectors, custom intake manifold. z32 maf... and I am sure i am forgeting some details since its been a while since i see it.

well there are numerous ways to get to any HP level....different internal methods, different engine management, diffent turbo size, diffrent nitrous setups, etc etc.....you can use so many different things, and there is no magic ingredient which is better than the other.

I'm not a fan of the JWT ECU anymore. I figured it'd be fine on my car, but it's not. At this power level, you NEED some tuning adjustibility. None of this, "oh, i'll send it to JWT and let them reprogram it and wait 3 months." However, i'm quite happy with my JWT clutch, fuel rail, and injector setup. But, if you're making more than 300hp, a power FC or similar stand-alone, and adjustible management system is very helpful. Yes, my car does RUN with the JWT ECU, but, I should have 400hp crank EASY right now, but I don't, and the ECU is pretty much what we have narrowed it down to. Maybe we've missed something, but the power FC I have on the way will tell all, i'm hoping :(
