I just got back from doing it bc it's a nice, cold night, and the roads will be FREE of all that sand/salt for only 2 more days
(snowstorm saturday in NE--damn i hate the snow on the road!)
Anyway--Here's the specs:3/4 tank of gas. Me (160 pounds) + passenger (twin brother), also 160 pounds.
Last time I weighed it with just me it was 2940, with 1/4 tank of gas...subtract 50 pounds for gutting, we're down to 2890, add 30 pounds for gas, we're up to 2920 pounds, add 160 pounds, we're at ~3080 pounds.
Anyway, here it is....the test was performed multiple times using an accurate stop-watch...they probably weren't THAT accurate, but I trust the person timing it, and i heard the watch beep exactly when i told him to start timing. So margin of error, maybe +/- 0.3 seconds.
Fourth gear:40-60 mph: 4.22 seconds.50-70 mph: 3.64 seconds
Third gear:40-60 mph: 2.94 seconds40-80 mph: 5.72 seconds
I'm at 9 psi, but by the time I was at 6000 rpm for the 40-80 run, I was down to about 6.5 psi.
Compare this with the tests done immediately before I turbocharged it, with the same person, using the same watch on the same roads.Only difference--85 degrees instead of 29 degrees. (pretty substantial difference, but I can't very well test it w/o my turbocharger now
Fourth gear:40-60 mph: 6.50 seconds
Third gear:40-60 mph: 4.60 seconds
As you can see, I'm pretty happy with how much lower the times are.
My 0-60 is around ~5.5 seconds, with an inexperienced driver....(it was actually 5.70, as measured by g-tech, on a humid, 90 degree day--slipping clutch through three gears, spinning tires--since then I've added an ACT street clutch, Fidanza aluminum flywheel and ASP aluminum pulley.)--In this weather, with an experienced driver, I wouldn't be surprised if my 0-60 was around 5.3.
Anyway, just curious to see what kind of numbers any of you are getting....
