Hello, well the prob is that my car is a '93 SE and it's running rich on the #4 plug. I put new wires, plugs, cap, rotor, o2, coolent temp sen, thermostat and changed the oil. It still has a miss to it at idle. Also, a feel of loss in power at times. I did a comp test as stated on this board. It went as #1-178, #2-176, #3-177 and #4-178. By the way, it has 219,XXX miles too. To tell you about myself, I've been working and building Honda's for years so I think of myself as a good mechanic. What do you all think? On the KA-T forums there is a thead about taking off all the EGR and stuff off. I'm thinking about doing it and getting an baffled oil catch can. Please help. . .

By the way, I forgot to say that my HC levels are 6342 and standerd is 220. Does that mean that I'm not burning all of the fuel? Someone told me that I might have a injector stuck open. What do you guys think?

That's why I said check the number 4 injector and the wiring around it. It would make sense to me at least that if cylinder 4 is running way rich, and your compression is good and you've replaced all those other parts, that theres a good chance your injector might be stuck open. See if you might be able to borrow an injector of the same size from someone else to see if it changes things.

Sounds to me like either an injector or the the ecu. If you are running rich that means to much fuel by weight or not enought air by weight.

Yes there is something about #4 that needs to be checked soon. Are you getting spark at #4? How is the resistance at injector #4's plug?

I'm getting spark, for when I pull the wire. . .it misses. I'll check resistance in the morning and post what I find. There is one thing I'm going to do. I'm pulling the intake manifold and doing this. . http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3150 and also putting a oil catch can on the PCV valve.

I'm running it like this. . .

What do you think?

That injector is probably stuck slightly open. Check out those resistance numbers across the injector and post.

The catch can is a great idea. You'd be surprised about the amount of stuff it gets. The one thing I'm not too thrilled about with that setup is that filter at the top. That should be routed back to the intake tract.

Ok, I checked the resistance across the board and got 11 all the way. So what does that mean? That's with the ohm meter set at 200m. I have another KA24DE that came out of a '93 hicus (spelling) and I was looking at the injectors. Two of the injectors had a sticker on them and the bottom tips were different from the others. I stopped in at Napa and asked my bro if they had any instock. They did and the two injectors with the stickers on them are from Napa and they are going to swap them out for me, so I'll have two new one the mix when I do the Mods. It'll be alittle bit becuase I'm in trhe middle of do a B16A swap and full suspension mods on a '94 Delsol, but when I get through with that, I'll do my car and I'll post pics.

get a noid light (GM noid light will work) and plug that in inplace of your injector. crank the engine, it should pulse and not stay steady on.

also, get a fuel pressure gauge, hook it up and start the car. then, turn the car off and watch the gauge. it should hold pressure, if not then an injector is likely leaking.

You can check for fuel injector leaks by removing the fuel rail with the injectors attached and putting the ignition switch to ON (NOT START). If the leak comes from the pintle then the injector is stuck open which is usually due to internal rust. If the leak is from the outside, then the bottom o-ring is most likely shot.

Thanks for all of your repley's. I'll be getting around to my car here in a couple of weeks and post the oil catch cans, injectors, fuel pressure reg., emission removal and Prothane bushing install with lots of pics. One thing to the Moderators, Where do you think I should post these topics? Also, should I do them in one post or one for each thing I'm doing? Right now I'm doing a B16 swap, Neuspeed springs, Tokico shocks and Prothane bushings on a '94 Delsol and after that I have a headgasket to do on a '95 240 SE. Then. . . ! I can get to my car. . . thank god for my Jeep so I'm not stuck without a ride. So Moderators, please let me know how to post and post it write. By the way, I'm not good at write-ups, but I can take pics and post whatever I need to and whatever anyone else would like to see. . .

The b16 swap, post on honda boards, they'll be better at answering that question with the nitty gritty details.

The 95 240 head gasket questions/write up you can post here, the 240sx tech board or with the ka guys. If you're going to do a write up, it can be submitted to go to our articles.
