So as all of you know the stock brakes on the 240's kinda suck. Q45 and 300zx brake upgrades are popular, but what im wondering is what stock upgrade is there for us 4 luggers?

Getting the 300zx rotors re-drilled is always a possibility but i wanted to see what other people did as cheaper alternatives to upgrade the stock brakes

Pretty much...

Pads, fluid... maybe lines.

Powerslot makes some pretty damn cheap slotted rotors for the 4 lug cars.

ummm q45/j30s work w 4 lug

either redrill the rotors; or get conversion rotors that are 4/5 lug combos

i went this route; 11 in rotor; 15 in wheels

If you planning on doing the whole swap then do the Z32 stuff, don't waist $$ on Q45 brakes, they are great but the Z's are that much better. DO NOT redrill the rotors and make then 4-lug, I hate that getto crap and its not safe considering one or two drilled holes are going to be very close to the factory holes, prone to cracking under heavy breaking (yes I've seen it few times, and thats few times 'cause most folks do the five-lug swap with hubs). Just my 2-cents

circuit sports sells 4lugged drilled z32-240 conversion brake rotors.

s.s. lines, fluid flush, slotted/drilled rotors and pads will only really increase performance in terms of endurance.helps reduce brake fade..

if you want more stopping power, q45 or z32 brakes are the way to go.

by far the SECOND BEST investment I've made to my car, the z32 brake upgrade.

Step 1: Buy massive brakes

Step 2: Make them fit

from what i've read, this seems to be the case. it seems that most people say you can stay four lug, everything about the swap would be the same, except you redrill the rotors to 4 lug.

am i mistaken or is that pretty much the case?

These are bolt on to S14/S13 spindles and uses the same banjo type brake lines just like stock calipers.

The Spec brakes work wonders....so much more stopping power than OEM, and they are a direct fit, no need to get them drilled, or buy anything else...

People are really making a big deal about having to have rotors drilled? Come on, really?

If you have a template ready, it'll take a machine shop minutes. And PLEASE, only take it to a machine shop.

What's ghetto is people trying to do it with a hand drill.

there's plenty. z32 can be used for 4 lugs as well big brake kits that SPL sells.

heyy .. aren't Altima or Maxima rotors (93 to 01) the same diameter as a 300zx ?! .. they are still 4 lug .. but 22mm thick instead of 30mm ..

can't u just use 300zx calipers on (altima/maxima) rotors?!
