hey whats up? for a while now i have trying to decide on the best choice of car to build into a bad *** street car and i think i found it.

iv always dug the idea of a fast mean *** 4door and yes the evo and wrx's are cool but they are everywere and dont have that "vibe" that some of the jdm(aint a jdm fanboy) turbo sedans have like the nissan gloria and cedric or hell a toyota mark2 with a 1jz swaped in would be awsome, but those cars are not avalible her at all.

so i was thinking the perfect car would be r32 sedan but i was wondering did the r32 sedans ever get the rb25det??all iv seen is rb20det powered r32 sedans. but the rb20 is just to small for my 500-600bhp goal. but the rb25 would be perfect with its higher displacement it would have great low end and hell id even bore/stroke it out to 2.7 probly.

anyway my question is what year if any did the r32 sedans get a rb25det?? i can picture it now a 500-600hp r32 sedan with a bn sports areo kit and some volks(sleeper baby lol) and rare and diffrent as hell.

RB25DET replaced the RB20DET when the transition from R32 to R33 occurred. If you find an RB25DET R32 it was put there by an entity other than Nissan.

some of the R32's came with a rb25de, the non-turbo, but no R32's came with a rb25det

really? is a rb25det as simple as a rb25de with a turbo added or is it actually a diffrent engine all together??

because if the de and det are pretty much the same that would mean it could handle boost and have just has much potential and that would mean turboing the rb25de wouldnt be to big a problem right?

i also though a rb26dett from a r32 gtr would probly swap into a r32 sedan pretty easily right? but even though that be cool and all having a 4 door gtr , it would end up costing as much as a actual gtr and even though it would be diffrent if your going to spend that money you might has well buy a gtr.

man that sucks why couldnt nissan put rb25dets into the gts sedans, through motorex you can get one for like 15k legal and all.(yea thats a rip off for a 1990 car but its better than 100k for a r34) guess mabey a lexus sc400 turboed v8 is the way to go, lol. didnt really want anything to do with a v8 but have you seen top secrets 800hp twin turbo v8 powered v35 skyline?? (off topic but its pretty damn cool, v8 done up japan style lol)

Totally different, different compression, DET has VTC, totally different animals.

Nissan DID put the RB25DET into the GTS sedans, when they introduced the RB25DET....in the R33 model lineup.

He would be fine as long as no one wised up to the fact that the crash testing was done on the coupes. He also has the chance to do a Show/Display title limiting him to 2500 miles a year. Also, you can import it as a 'race only' vehicle provided you can get Nissan to send a letter stating it was built for race purposes only.

With the 'race only' option, you don't have to go through an importer, just through customs and fill out a little bit of paperwork. The other 2 options must go through an importer, and I think there are only a few importers that will do the necessary conversions to a Nissan Skyline to get it to a legal status.

Getting a Skyline here isn't easy or cheap(if you do it the legal way), if it was everyone would be rolling in one.

NHTSA's guide to importing
