I would consider buying one if it didn't look hideous...

...actually no, it's a real article from 16 March. Had it in my e-mail and finally got a chance to look at it!

Am I missing something here? I don't see a pic of a 4/dr.

Speaking of vettes, GTR, eat your heart out. I need to win the lottery for something like this. Sorry, I am a GM guy at heart. Skip to the 1:00 mark and you will see the dyno on this.

Just talk as of now...they are also talking about the C8 being mid-engined

they already made a 4 door vette...a pontiac G8 GT or GXP...if you haven't already driven one go do it now! It'll leave a G in the dust for sure. My dad has one and it's just fun to stomp the gas!

If they made a 4 door Corvette I will burn the GM building down with my own matches and gasoline.

I promise you that.

They destroy a car I like, so I destroy something they like. Sounds like a fair trade to me.

I agree with the kid. Why ruin the only true sports car GM, or America for that fact, has ever known. I consider Mustang and Camaro pony cars and not sports cars.

I would have loved to have gotten a G8....Sunset Orange Metallic. But, like I have said before, GM has to earn my business back. I'm not throwing 30-40 grand on another one of their cars and get stuck with junk. Get that quality up and I will come back.

I looked for a G8 GXP...they only made it for 1-year and with limited numbers. Still, 450HP vette engine and 4-doors sounded great

It is a good looking car too.

Last year we rented a G6 and it was a total POS. Interior was really cheap. I don't know how much Pontiac upgraded the interior on the G8.

A friend of mine has a G8 GT...it's OK inside. Comparable to the Firebird/Camaro. The Infiniti blows it away...but that car is for people who only care about what's under the hood

With Pontiac going away, I'd be wary buying a 30k vehicle that might need warranty work down the road.

My dad got his fully loaded G8 GT for 27k out the door.....the dash and surrounds are kinda plasticy and not finished as high as Infinity, but hell the car is at least 10k cheaper...the seats and leather interior are actually pretty good. I like the seats way more than in my G...they support better in the corners. Not to mention GM makes by far the best sport auto 6speed transmission. I've driven the new G37S sedan and even in sport mode it's no where near as good as the gm transmission... Holds gears perfectly as you drive...downshifts perfect to w/o even having to tell it too. The car isn't trying to pretend to be a luxury sports car...it's trying to be a 4 door muscle car. It succeeds at that very well. You cannot find another sub 30k car that can even come close to what it offers in performance and light luxury.

I heard that the GXPs were 10k over MSRP due to demand...I wouldn't be happy with just the GT.

GXP was top on my list as my next car...the car is beautiful in person...very big all the way around it just look mean...but with GM pulling the plug I went with a G37s

GXP is my next car after the G is paid off. I need two cars for how much I drive

Most people will be worried but it is a good thing it is a rebadged Holden Monaro so getting parts shouldn't be a problem. There may be a bit of a lag time due to shipping though.

I just wanted a new car...plus I don't want to deal with Pontiac. If the CTS-V didn't look nasty, that would have been more of a consideration (my wife HATES the CTS body). Finally, the BMW M3 was on the top of my list, but it cost about double the G37 sedan...hard to justify.

We'll see what they do with the 4-door vette if it every becomes a reality.
