Hey guys, I finally got the balls up to start working on my car (I figured after dreaming about it so often I might as well)...So I did a compression test got 125 150 125 0. So I took off the valve cover and checked the rocker arm bolts and found out that one of the #4 cylinder bolts is stripped, so tomorrow I'm going to helicoil it. After that I'm going to do another compression test and then check to see if she's getting fuel.

-Any other suggestions, and other than just taking out the fuel injector and cranking it how do i check to make sure that fuel injector is gettin fuel?

Thanks guys.

Before you go about all that trouble, 125 is a very low compression number. When you're doing the compression test, you depress the gas pedal all the way, right? If you got 125 using the correct procedures then it sounds like that motor needs rings/rebuild.

lol yeah dude 125 is way to low of compression. I saw 150 was your highest I believe. Possibly new rings and head gasket. Shouldn't it be up about 150-170 or some where around there?

You have to remember that those numbers are for a properly warmed up engine. If the car hasn't been ran in a long time 110-130 isn't bad. 75-90 is about what most rebuilds crank at before the rings are seated. Back to the op, repair the rocker, poor a little oil in each cylinder put the plugs back in and the valve cover and start it up. If its sat for a long time let it run for 10-15 minutes and do an oil change, I'm sure it needs one.

well, the engine has 202,xxx miles on it, and it hasn't been started in like 4-5 months, so I'll go ahead and try that. I'm hoping/praying I can come across a cheap complete engine that's in good engine.

You live in Cali dude, I bet there's plenty. Beats living in Georgia and finding anything worth a flip.
