Seems unlikely you'd need to change out the entire valve body especially since the inside of your trans looks pretty clean, my guess is if there's an issue that it's a solenoid and the actual valve body is fine?

Thank you for the response elwesso that picture is of the replacement transmission I purchased have yet to open the one in the car I believe the code it gave is a p1757 or 1759 both of which or solenoid problems says this chart. When I first start to drive the car it runs fine for a few minutes then it'll bang or what ever it does when it goes into limp mode but after bout 20-25 mph it goes into 3rd gear and feels fine.

I don't have a lot of experience with the G35 transmission in particular, however most the time in Nissan transmissions the electronics inside are pretty reliable.. Probably about 8/10 times whenever there's a trans issue, the trans is junk and the whole thing needs replaced. Occasionally you can get lucky. I would just hate to see you go through the effort of all this just to find out there's something else that's messed up inside.

I know if you get a rebuilt trans from nissan, they put a brand new valve body in there, and last time I checked if you get them through one of our fine retailers like Infiniti of Scottsdale (www.infinitipartsusa.com) they're pretty reasonably priced compared to a local rebuild (which in mine and many others experiences hasn't ended well).

Another good place to check into is Level Ten or Import Performance Transmission, both in New Jersey. I had a Level 10 in my Q45 and it was a nice unit, survived a lot of abuse for a lot of miles.
