4.083 is the standard rear end gear set for the 90-96 300ZX non turbo manual transmission. New gears [ring and pinion plus shims and bearings] can be ordered at any Nissan dealership. Junkyards, used cars, etc.

Here's a couple threads on the topichttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=209136http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=194589

A few think it's not worth the effort and think a higher speed stall is much better

Based on emergencey passing I wouldn't want a 2nd>3rd gear shift to occur at 73-75 mph unless something could be done about shift lag.

Sorry, only had one, and someone bought it.

The Q I had the 4.11 rear end in did not (WOT) shift from 2nd to 3rd until 83-85. As it also had the increased red line. Everything has pro's and con's even when maintained to as new stock.

The key is doing research and making fully informed decisions.

Nissan never made a 4.11 gear set it has been 4.083 for the past 30 years.
