Nice, what all changes did you make to the intake manifold?

OK!

Now that the manifold is just about through testing. I am going to need YOUR help to get it into production. This will not be a very high volume piece, I know, but we need to be able to justify it to the owners of AMS. The only way to get the manifold to the quality level that you would expect from us, is to cast the runners. This is not an inexpensive process, and requires tooling to be made. So that the cost is not astronomical we need to make a significant amount of them.

I am going to need 5 to 10 people to put down deposits to get these made. Once I can justify the costs to the owners, the manifolds will be available for regular sale as a stocking item.

I will need the deposit to be about half the cost of the projected price of the manifold. The projected price of the manifold will be $1500 give or take. There will be a wait time of about 2-3 months from the time we set the wheels in motion.

If anyone is seriously interested in having one of these manifolds for their car, we will need your help to make this thing a reality. Please send me a pm or email me at chris (at) amsperformance.com

I must say, those are excellent numbers. I assume the 462 is the improvement over your last dyno posting? I notice the peak power improved and you didn't lose any torque, well done.

The future production manifold will have curved runners but the same plenum design and runner entry angle right? Do you have any designs of the production mani in CAD you can post up. I think if people see what the production model will actually look like, it will influence more deposits.

Once you guys get the cast setup, the price should drop quite a bit. Personally I'd rather have a hand made manifold. The tiging is very well done and makes it a show piece IMO. SO for anyone who wants a handmade mani, you better snag one now, because I doubt AMS will continue to make them once the casting is set up.

Chris, now that you guys have the exhaust and intake manifolds taken care of, what is AMS's next project going to be?

So are we just suppose to assume what boost pressure you're running here?

And can you tell me what a "Properly shimmed and clearanced oil pump" is? Did you add some shims to the regulator valve assembly or something? If so, what was the reasoning behind doing so?

Wow that is one sexy looking manifold and some nice a$$ numbers.

But I do have a question. I understand you guys put countless hours into making this manifold countless hours testing it, and I think it's awesome that you guys are willing to do after market support for the KA.

Now I own a SOHC so pretty all the work ad stuff that get done to it have to be done thorugh a DIY process. So let me get to the question about the price.

And don't get me wrong too, I am not asking, or saying oh 1500 dollars that is sooo much money this and that, all Im curious about is why 1500?. Wouldn't it be better to lets say cut the cost to about 1000, and with he large KA community I have seen lately those things would sell like hot cakes.

Thats all Im just curious, I got my RB20 front facing manifold custom made in Australia and paid $950, and they say they know their mani is worth much more but for that price they sell left and right over there. Must have a huge RB20 population LOL.

Either way like I said. Awesome Manifold great product, and keep on supporting the KA community. Im sure this thing is worth every penny. Now time to copy your design for the SOHC MUHAHAHA J/K.

Damn... I'm still running a stock intake manifold with my T2 bottom mount setup. As soon as I can afford it, I'm going with all AMS gear. They have all their s*** together and have the proof to back up anything it is they sell. Prices are a bit on the steep side, but then again: who/what do we have to compare this stuff to? No one offers the time, or the R&D that AMS puts into their products.

Go Fast = Money

Looking good Chris. As soon as we get PCS'd over there at Scott AFB, I may just be a regular at AMS with ya.

I do sell the DSM and EVO manifolds under 1K

The KA manifold is more expensive to make, there is no way around it.

Yah, I was jsut more curious then anything heh. I mean you guys set the price for a reason. Now are the DSM and EVI intakes cheaper cause their is a lot more demand for them? Or does it have to do with the complexity of the design?

do these mani's clear the hood? or will the "hood mod" be required for use of these mani's?

The production manifold does clear the hood, and is most of the reason for the increase in price. The intake runners will be custom, cast, pieces which are curved.

Just a matter of time....

....I gotta find that unsuspecting elderly woman who needs a young strappin' man, and I'll be sportin' one of these with the quickness.

That's not wrong of me..... is it?

Those of you looking to make power, let's step up and make this project happen.
