Guys Last year we had only one BBQ grill and it was not enough, we had to wait for hot dogs & chili to come out, so if you have it and you have space in your M , please bring it :) we'll appreciate it.

And yes we need more Ms to show up than last year.

I picked it up on Friday night (by Boston) and drove it back to Jersey on Saturday. Wife went to the DMV this AM to get some LE Plates on it. I'll bolt them on today when I get back home.

I had quite an interesting trip to Boston & back...20 mins after I paid the seller and drove off his property with my M45, my wife who was following me in our SLK, started hi-beaming me violently and I knew something was wrong. I turned down the music to hear a scratching / dragging noise coming from the right side of the vehicle. I pulled over ASAP and began to walk around the vehicle, to my horror, the right side of the exhaust was lying on the floor! I called the seller and asked him how on earth this could have happened, etc. He was a standup guy and came to the site of my disable vehicle to see what was going on. Turns out the hanger let go off the muffler and the weight of it alone caused it to brake off the pipe by the welds. Rest of the exhaust seemed to be A-OK. I drove it to his house that night and we brought it to a exhaust specialist the next day and they re-welded it back on. He took care of all the expenses there too. Drove it home with a big grin on my face. I do hear something sqeaking now by the right exhaust pipe, will need to figure out where that's coming from. haha...that's a project for another day.
Congratulations on you purchase. Post some pic of you M. I hope after that exhaust horror you will enjoy your M more :D Are you planning to come to the BBQ??
Just one for now...will post some more soon!

Hey there congrats on your purchase & welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear what happened to your exhaust, the hanger by itself could not have let go of the muffler , it does require some force to get it out, anyways where in Nj are you ?
Btw. If you want I have a full set Oem midpipe and mufflets that I am trying to get rid of, good condition took it of the car with aprox. 50K miles. Sorry for thread jacking :)

Come on we need more Ms than last year !!!
I think the muffler falling off, was probably a combo of the hanger letting go and the muffler being very heavy plus poor welds by where it connected to the pipes. When we took it to the custom exhaust shop, he not only fixed the broken portion but listened to the whole setup with a stethescope and then did 1 or 2 spot welds where ever he heard a leak, and was able to "certify" in his opionion that the exhaust was now* in top notch condition.

Haha...don't mind the threadjacking, I have considered going back to OEM, but i love the growl too much for now, if it falls again or something, I may just wanted to get rid of it. Can't wait for you guys to hear it. You can judge for yourself if its worth the hassle or if its worth going back to stock. Send me a PM with what $$ you had in mind, I'll definitely give it some thought.

Too bad you wont make it.
About that parking, i would tell you to get "best parking" app and search for the cheapest parking in Manhattan (downtown)

Since this on a saturday, I may be down to attend. However, I don't go to car meets, etc. so...what exactly goes down at these places? It's about 3.5hrs for me...so just trying to see if it's worth it lol.

Ilya, it's really just a chance to meet folks you talk to on a regular basis on the forums...to be able to put names to faces if you will. Plus you get to check out everyone's rides and there's food. I'd say it's more than worth the trip bro.

The meet last about 5hrs (9:30am to 3:30pm) and we cook & eat the whole time, it can last longer pending on how many M's show up. Those attending should not eat anything at least 2 days before the BBQ.

It's a big park with bathrooms & running water, great place to take pics.

It's the only time you will have a chance to meet up with so many M owners, we would like to beat 11 M's which was last years #'s. I'm hoping for 20 this year.

The BBQ is listed in 5 different forums & at Facebook too. The list that we have are those that will come for sure and will try to bring food to the BBQ. It will not happen but if we run out of food I will make sure to go and buy more.

Lots of M owner come to the forums but don't join, I'm hoping that those that do get to see the threads about the BBQ will show up.

This takes alot of work to put together & host, Robert & I have agreed that this will be the last BBQ/meet we will be hosting. We hope that every M owner try their best to make it down this year.

In the next few days Robert & I will start to complete the list with names, state & foods that each person can bring.

This list will give everyone a chance to see if they can meet someone and drive down together to the BBQ.

If you know someone with an M around your area please invite them to come with you. We will have other types of makes of cars hanging out with us.

Please spread the word in your MD area, we need more M's from MD. As for now we may have 3

Also tell us your city so that Robert can add you to the list and maybe others from MD will join us.

For those that haven't added themself too the list please do, This helps me know what is missing and what I need to go buy.

Looks like the weather will be great

Don't forget to bring a chair, football or soccer-ball

We need good cameras

For those that will be bringing drinks, please bring them cold in a cooler no ice to buy at the park. I'll be putting the drinks I buy in my home refrigerator the night before. This will allow the ice to last longer thru the day.

Best way to get to the park is exit 14B on the New Jersey Turnpike, 2nd parking lot.

Sorry to hear but I hope it's nothing too crazy

We'll be at the park until about 4pm unless we get a really big turn out (we stay longer) so it gives you time if you have the chance to pass by.
