I just got out of my lease for my 19' SV and traded that back for a 2021 Leaf SL Plus. A huge improvement over the SV across the board and of course a big difference from the 11' SL that is now sold to CarMax with a worthless battery. the SL Plus reads 290 miles at startup, the SV was 174 and it was very true, we drove it over 135 miles a few times and it was still working. The interior is big improvement with better seats, drivers is electric, display is much better quality and standard seat heaters, better USB connectivity including USB C and much improved sound quality with Bose system and sub woofer. I was able to get out of lease 8 months early and Nissan giving 9k cashback and dealers sold the car at invoice, after all the rebates and savings on lease this car will net to 24k out the door.

I will post a few more diving impressions after I get more seat time, including Pro Pilot

The Leaf Plus is a sweet ride with a big battery and a motor that will snap your neck from a stoplight. I frankly love them, huge improvement over the base Leaf.

The seats and infotaiment screen are much better than SV model, your right this thing is pretty darn quick, much more o tap than non-Plus. It will be much more fun to drive!

So I have finally gotten a few drives in the car. The power is night and day compared to a non-Plus model, althought the engine is for sure a little louder, but it is still electronic wheeerrrr sound. The seat is so much better (I hated the SV Seat) and not sure if this is an improvement over the 19' Model or the Plus infotainment but the bluetooth is way better. I was streaming Amazon Music and within 5 seconds after you turn the car back on the music starts up directly. My 16' Mercedes S Class does this too, my Pioneer radio in my XTerra doesn't work that fast nor did the SV. Having an electric seat rocks.

The miss for me is no seat memory, come on Nissan throw in 2 of those in a 45k car and the garage door opener is not standard on the SL so I didn't get that feature, again WTF Nissan.

Pics attached. Also interesting when you get in the car this distance meter shows 290!

Yah, I was a bit surprised at no memory seats on the SL Plus, but it is a pretty expensive proposition from the manufacturing standpoint between the Seat Controller and all the extra wiring. I guess the engineers had to trade it off.

Little secret about Homelink mirrors, they all just need 12V and ground. Pick one off any model that has the same mirror-mount as your Leaf and you can get your garage opener for under $50 on eBay.

I get it but not like they don't have that option in many other cars that have the same seat controls, I know my mom's maxima has similar seat control configurations seems like am miss for a car of this price (same MSRP as a Maxima). I was looking into the mirror homelink and seemed like you had to do some surgery to it, at least that was what I guy was doing with a Rogue. Is there a requirement to redo the wiring?

No, but the Nissan kits come with a connector and harness to hook up to the accessory prewire in the lefthand kick panel. If you get a used one, try to get one with the connector included. If you JY it and the mirror has more than 2 wires (some of the OE's do, like late model Maxes), get the VIN so the connections can be identified from the WD.

Okay, is this something I can get the dealer to do, i would pay extra, I have zero DIY skills, or my car mechanic?

If you get the Nissan kit then sure, any competent technician can install it. They don't spec one for any year Leaf, but the gen2 Rogues all use the same mirror base as the Leaf does (96327-9Y000). So a '14~'20 Rogue kit should work fine, p/n 999L1-VZ001. NissanPartsDeal has them for $200, or hit the JY and you can probably get one with a connector for under $50. Like I said, there's only two wires to worry about, 12V and ground.

I talked to my mechanic he said 30 minutes to install, so got one on order, thanks for the advise. It is worth $50 bucks for me to have someone that knows what they are doing install it. My DIY skills do not go further than windshielf wiper blades :) and checking my dipstick on my cars that have them

i got the mirror homelink in my detail guy was able to do it. Now i need to program it.

Update on the car, the range is great, we rarely get into the car without it showing under 250 and sometimes 270 for range. I have only had it under 170 once so far and the power is great. I have had it up to 90 a few times and very quiet and planted. Overall for the price after all the rebates and kickbacks this is a great deal.
