I have a little problem on my hands. I am on the taller side and I am realizing (after the 3rd day of ownership) that my head is very close to the headliner when sitting in the normal driving position. My seat position is as low as it will go and scooted all the way back but my head still grazes the headliner and I am starting to find this really annoying. I can slouch to fit but then my back is killing me when I get out of the car.

I really like this car and I guess I didn't notice it before purchase will all the excitement etc. It unfortunately has the sunroof which I know costs me a little room. I am considering something drastic like removing cushion material from the seat......not even sure if that is feasible.

Any suggestions?

Head or hair?

If latter, more pommade.

I am only 6ft. but headroom is tight. Some members are 6'4". Don't know how they fit.

My Y33 pisses the heck out of me sometimes because my head hits sometimes! im 6'4 and if you really want you can do research on ultra low railings but I don’t know how they work with power seats go to a local custom shop and ask them im sure they will come up with a solution to sell you something but till than just let the back lean back a little and bring your seat closer to the steering wheel! Good luck

I'm 6'2" and fit in my '92 Q only because my head sits inside the sunroof. Sunroofs have gotten smaller over the years with the curtain airbags eating up space.

I hear the next Q won't be called a Q and it'll be a 4 door coupe-type CLS competitor.... so don't expect headroom from a Nissan/Infiniti car anytime soon.

The former owner of my 2000 is a BIG guy. BIG and tall but not fat. His hair rubbed the ceiling along the edge of the sunroof leaving a smear shadow or hair grease mark.

The drivers seat is collapsed and is now almost flat. I have made some efforts at fixing that and so far no luck. I note that the entire seat is available at some 1500 bucks but the lower or the actual seat where the behind rest is not available as a separate unit.

I would like to replace just that and reuse the leather, which is otherwise perfect, to keep the color match. I contacted a car re-upholster guy (very good) but although he does know how the seat is made, he is not interested.

If I could locate just the lower cushion part I am confident I could remove and replace the leather from the old to the new.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Jack.

Head room and shoulder room were really the main drivers which recently caused me to sell my 2002 after only owning it for 6 months.

If you recline the seat enough it will be ok but not great.

I hope it won't come to that. I am swimming in headroom on an LS, so I'm surprised that the Infiniti full size is this much smaller.

Jack,Maybe we should swap seat cushions....

Find a good source of variable density foam, or a great seat from a wreck.

I'm thinking about looking at a used LS430, seats look very comfy. '01-'03 are around $20K now, '04+ (with 6 speed auto) is quite a bit more. Not sure if it's worth waiting for '04+ to come down to $20K range.
