You guys know how the 3rd gens have the 4x6 speakers in the front doors? Is there any way to make it so you can put 6 1/2's in there, like a kit or something? If anyone has it done, can you post pics? Or do you guys think the 4x6 's are good enough, cause i cant even hear mine, Would you guys make the conversion or just buy some real good 4x6's? I will see if i can find some pics to give you guys an idea of what i want to do?

I used a piece of plywood, cut to fit, using the original as a template.the speakers i bought had a template for them, and I used that to cut the hole for the speaker. since the plywood is thicker than the stock bracket, use some metal screws that are about 1/2 inch longer to compensate.

Yeah, the best way to get 6.5's in there is to use an adapter like mentioned above.

I think there was a guy on here with custom speakers to fit over the area where the little foot rest thingy is in our cars.

If I can find a pic or link I'll post it. I think he was selling it too but Idk the exact size of the speaker you could put in it though.

EDIT: NVM...they were for 5.25's but they look damn good.

Here is a linky anyway...

This is hilarious that you just happened to mention it.

I just recently corverted my front door speakers to 6.5"

You can do the panel yourself or if you just want something to bolt it hit up this guy: http://www.Car-Speaker-Adapters.com

He sells kits for both style of door speakers. and they are pretty inexpensive. Give it a try.

i just paid the guy at my local car audio joint to do it for my 6.5's. I had the door trim of and they made a frame for the speaker and used just bolted that into the holes for the frame for the original speakers.

they put the tweeters on the triangle bit where the manual control for the side mirrors would be too. and covered it so people looking to steal cant see the aftermarket ones yay

Actually they are the stock signal lights. They just look clear due to the picture being black and white.

So what you want to do is make your turn signals blue instead of amber??

Well I'll give you a link to a place you can buy clear signals from and then you can just either try to find blue bulbs or just put a blue film over them. (Idk how legal that is...but hey...its your car lol)

Here is a homemade version: Click Here

Here is a aftermarket one: Click Here
