I've got a 93 Maxima SE with a VE30de in it. I'd like to swap to a manual transmission. Do i need to swap ECU's or harnesses or anything when doing this swap? I believe the ECU needs a signal for a neutral switch? can i just supply power or ground to that pin on an Auto ecu?

Thanks very much.

You shouldn't need a new ECU. There should be 3 wires coming from the transmission harness to the connector to the neutral/safety switch on the trans. Take those 3 wires, twist and cap the wires into each other, and do the same with the other side of the switch (mounted on the shifter) and you should be good. I'm not sure if things like backup lights, ect would work that way. Here is the writeup on the forth gen auto to 5spd swap, you may be able to gain wiring info from that. http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modu...id=30Let us know if you need wiring diagrams to compare the 3rd and 4th gens.
