3rd gear issues

Hi. We are new to the forum. We have a 93 240sx automatic. It seems it is very sluggish when shifting into 3rd - it requires qute a high RPM in order to shift and then it kicks with a jerk. 1st and 2nd are just fine. Has anyone else out there had this problem and solved it? The car isn't driven too much, but we sure would like to fix it. Thanks.

When was the last time a complete trans service was done?

Changed fluids & filter a couple years ago (note: the car is only driven a couple of months a year). It had been doing this before we changed it back then as well.
