3rd gear grinds sometimes

sometimes when i shift from 2nd to 3rd my rd gear would grind. whats up? HELP! thanks

Have you changed you trans fluid recently, if so what fluid are you using. Clutch hydro system in good shape. You just may have a worn syncro, easiest and cheapest fix is getting a good junkyards trans for 150-300 and putting that in.

i have no idea what kind of tran fluid it is because i just got the car about 7 months now and it been donig this for about 3 months now. it still drive good too but i just hate the 3rd gear.

You need about 2.4liters of API GL-4*2 gear oil 75w90. Thats about 2 1/2 bottles, I recommend either redline or royal purple. easiest way to change out fluid is -remove the drain plug with a 1/2 breakbar and extension (no socket needed) -after theres no more gear oil plug put the drain plug back in and tighten as hard as you can-remove the shift boot -and I believe you will have to remove the shifter-Use a screw driver or a long nose pliers to remove the clip and the shifter will be easy to remove-With a funnel pour the gear oil in Of course follow the safety procedures and such and have an fsm if you need to double check.
