hey everyone,
finally got my 240 but it has the infamous 3rd gear grind. i went to 2 mechanics reccommended by my peers. i thought it was the synchro and turned out it was. my question to all of you is, do you think it is ok to keep grinding until i get a new transmission? It grinds at any RPM over 3K. but doesnt grind under and when i granny shift. you think i should just have fun with my transmission, because since i've had it i cant have any fun in 2nd gear!

i was told that i can only use a 96 or up transmission because they have OBD-II. i was gonna use black240's transmission but his 95 is OBD-I
wat do you guys think of 80,000mi transmission for $250?

What a great idea why didn't I think of that:rolleyes. Sure cuz your third gear synchro is worn, might as well wear the fourth gear synchro down as well, while wasting gas, possibly burning your clutch, and/or causing damage to the engine. Nice suggestion buddy.
