hey guys,

I did a search through the forum and archives with no answers or relevant topics. My 3rd brake light on my 1990 240sx hatchback is not working. I replaced the bulbs, then rechecked the wiring and connections where visible, and it still does not work. I did not notice a fuse for it in the engine bay. Am I missing a fuse somewhere? Any recommendations on how to get this thing working? Thanks a lot!

Check the kick panel inside the car on the driver side to your left. That's where the brake light fuse is.

If the fuse doesnt solve the problem, get a multimeter to check for current to the light while a buddy presses the brake pedal. That will tell you if its the light or the wiring to it.

I gotta do this with my front turn signal that mysteriously stopped wokring...

Do you guys know where to locate the internal fuse/thermal limiter labeled "STOP LT SW" in the 240sx service manual, under "rear wiper, roof, and taillights" ?

Here is the wiring diagram:

That looks like the electrical switch on your brake pedal.
