Ok, bought the car a few weeks ago and noticed that the 3rd brake light wouldn't work.. Took it apart and found some corrosion. Fixed that and tested the whole assembly via ohm meter all over.. Perfect.. so put it back in the car and have zero probs.. however that was short lived.. After driving around town and the bad roads we have here, all of the sudden it stopped working.

At this point im not sure if its the wire or relay.. is there a easy way to check the relay at the back?. The wireing I know hasnt been messed with however doesnt mean that it couldnt have developed a bad spot. However I wanna try to rule the relay out if possible. Thanks

Pretty common for the relay to go bad, I'd replace it just because or you can probably find tests in the fsm.

If you go into the online service manual provided on this site, you can find a Stop and Tail Lamp Sensor Check on page EL-61. That's in the Electrical System chapter. I will be checking mine in the near future hopefully as I have a somewhat different problem. The "LIGHTS" light on my instrument panel remains illuminated even though all of the brake lights are working.
