3rd brake light in spoiler and in window?

I'm thinking this is a simple answer. I had my car inspected today and they almost didn't pass me claiming my third brake light was out. I said I checked it out this morning it works fine (pointing to the back window.) Well there is another third brake light in the spoiler.

So I have a 92 coupe body with a very stock looking spoiler. I'm guessing it didn't come with two third brake lights did it? Could my spoiler be from an 89 or something? Did 240s come with lights in the spoiler or did the previous owner swap something I haven't noticed for the past 7 years?

Sorry for the n00b question, but this is bothering me now.

Was that an option? I don't think I've seen a wingless coupe. (At least a stock wingless car.)

yea , just take it off to get it inspected. if its not there it doesnt have to work
