Today was the 3rd annual JennaBears car show in Peoria. It was the first time I had ever been and Priss's first car show ever. For those of you who do not know the story behind the show, here it is...

In March of 2007, the lives of the Eades’ family were tragically changed forever. Their beautiful 6 month-old daughter, Jenna Lynne, was fatally injured and their oldest daughter, Hayley, was critically hurt when a truck violently rear-ended the vehicle they were riding in. Hayley miraculously survived her injuries, but the impact was too much for little Jenna. Jenna’s parents always called her 'Jennabear', the inspiration for the name of this organization.

During their hospital stay, the Eades family noticed many children who were hurt and scared, yet, had nothing to comfort them. At times, not even a parent. 6 weeks later, they brought the bears Hayley received during her stay to those children...they loved them!

The Eades then became determined to make a difference through Jenna’s memory…

Whether it is a child who was seriously hurt in a car crash, a child battling cancer, or a parent who loses a child, we give them a Jennabear for comfort. Our Jennabear’s are super soft, big, and meet hospital criteria for infection control.

We also deliver Jennabear Trauma Baskets to the older children which include a Jennabear and various other items such as portable cd players, DVDs, puzzles, games, etc. Check out the JBF at Work page to read more about our very important ongoing projects. We hope to become large enough one day to fulfill our goal of building a playground for children with disabilities. But we promise, our whole reason for this foundation will never leave us. It's all about the Jennabears that we will be giving as a symbol of love, comfort, and a connection through the Eades' daughter Jenna.

The weather was perfect and we had a fantastic time. A great day, a great cause. Glad I could be a part of it. Here are some of my favorite pics, the link to the full photo album is at the end. Enjoy!

Yes. You know how we were speculating how he gets in and out of the thing? Well, he just monkey climbs it. No steps, no ladder. He stands on his toes to open the door latch, grabs the steering wheel, and pulls himself up.

Yep.

Dude that drives it is shorter than you, and gets in WITHOUT a step or ladder... hilarious to watch.

Is bringing dogs to car shows the new trend? I saw at least 3 at the one I went to yesterday.

Oh yeah, that guy with the toohighforitsowngood F-350 should just mount some headlights on the front axel. That would get the job done.

i beleive he does because you will notice there is a pair of turn signals attached so that it will be street legal and other cars will see the blinkers and what not...i would assume that he has tail lights mounted on the back in a similiar wayy so that people dont run into it...it looks pretty cool but making turns with it mustsuck because the center of gravity is so high there by causing it too be rollover prone...that is defiently not a trail truck but it does look kinda cool...theres a dude with an F-350 like that where i live its so high that you can drive a smaller suv under it...looks neat but most likely very difficult to drive...

No, Nala. It's actually lowered, if you look closely.

Do you not see the 6'2" guy standing in front of it with the headlights a FOOT above my head?

Seriously, sometimes you make me wonder if your mom had any kids that lived.

There were LOTS of dogs at this show. He was one of the highlights of the day. He is one of the healthiest and happiest dogs I have ever seen. For those of you worried about him out in the heat, it wasn't very hot, he had a big bowl of water, and he was in the shade. He let Priss take him for a walk (actually, he drug her for a walk) before the pavement warmed up. Beautiful dog.

68-69 are my favorite, but I like the taillights on a 68 SO much better. 69 were too big.

I don't like the 70-72 GM A-Body cars NEAR as much as the 68-69.
