When I took possession of my Rogue I was hoping it wouldn't suffer from the door sill chipping issue, but it had rock chips on the door sills from the get go. Rather than deal with the hassle of going to a dealer and having to fight with them (as it seems so many have) I just bought some 3M Scotchguard and took care of it myself.

But, when I finished with the 3M (which was remarkably easy) I thought - What else can I 3M that might be a common wear point?

Has anyone done any additional 3M'ing to their vehicle (besides the usual hood/bumper/fender)? The film doesn't seem to expensive so I'm trying to think of other things I could use it for.

Well if you have the patience, you can go around the whole door sill and not just protect the bottom.

I notice that where the rubber gasket meets the paint, it is doing the same thing. You will see the paint getting rough but without as many tiny pebbles at the top of door.

This was when I was inspecting my rubber gasket and wondering if I should add conditioner or wipe it down clean.

The most I will do is clean and wipe the gasket down. As for the paint under, it doesn't bother me that it's getting rough.

- The rear bumper/sill if you don't already have the OEM Nissan bumper protector installed.
- A pillar
- The first 3-4" of the roof (where it meets the windshield) is very prone to stone chips.
- The area below the gas door.
- Side mirrors
