with a 1 bar spring how much boost can you get out of one

It depends on flow more than boost. Therefore, it also brings in your piping configuration into the picture. Maybe if you summarized what your plans are as far as boost, manifold, and piping arrangement we could give you a better answer.

Without knowing anything else, I'd take a WAG at 30 psi (obviously assuming that you'll run a boost controller)

The more boost you run, the smaller W/G you can use essentially.

Darius is dead on though, and actual placement is a big deal too.

gt3076r, apexi avc-r and hopefully a 6boost manifold. not sure about boost but looking to get 480 to 500hp and i was just wondering if a 38mm would be good enough or should i go bigger

Ill be honest, I am not sure. I don't really know what the compressor maps look like. If you run a well designed setup Ill bet the 38mm will be okay. You can always weld on a 42mm flange then use an adapter to a 38mm just in case you want to go up in size.

I have a Synapse 40mm and had a previous one stick wide open at wide open throttle and boost dropped to 4lbs while holding. This was with holset hx35 with 18cm exhaust side. Correct the more boost you run the less gate you need, but at the time this happened I was trying to run 10lbs which is alot to bleed and worked fine.
