3800 series II?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

So i am thinking of going with a 3800 series II out of a camaro with 5 speed tranny with just over 100k on the motor all for $700. I have a 3800 supercharger just laying in my garage that i got from my uncle for free and wondering if anyone has done this swap? oh i plan on putting it into a 91 s13.

1. you can just throw a supercharger on a n/a 3800 the supercharged version found in the GTP has lower compression so you need to swap internals too.

2. $700 is too much for that motor theres a million of those things around I'm sure you can find one cheaper

3. I wouldn't waste time swapping one into a s13 all that work for 240hp theres better options out there

t5 is super weak, hope you aint looking for alot of power. Otherwise sounds fun, like to see the results.

I was (still am alittle bit) thinking about this swap. One thing is for sure, that supercharger WILL NOT bolt on without modification. The inlet for the s/c will hit the firewall. There are s/c's that came on vehicles in australia available with an inlet that will work, but good luck finding one. The t-5's aren't super strong, but it'll hold the power in that light of a car. There are also places that can make em a bit stronger too. I say go for it man. I really want to see this swap done... So i can decide if i wanna do it or not

awesome. don't go with a t-5 , I read that they are crap and brake at 330ft/lbs best(that is the best trans from the third gen of mustangs). fourth gen mustangs have stronger transmissions you can use. tr-3450, tr3550,tr-3650, t-45 etc. some of these are pretty strong and were the basis for the new TKO transmissions. that are found in the 2005 +.

hope this helps.
