I am just wondering which way will the rim go? will it go inwards less flush or outwards?

I am referring to the 40+ Offset

Offset means nothing without wheel width. But assuming the wheels are the same width, +40 will move the wheel into the wheel well 1/5 inch compared to +35.

If they're not the same width, things will be different depending on individual widths.

You can just simplify things and plug your numbers into this offset calculator, though. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Well got my new rims/tires combo, I miss the flush look so I am looking at getting spacers to make them flush.

Is offset measured in CM or MM?
