2010 370 Roadster Sport. My passenger power seat switch does not work, either forward/back or seat back. Dealer tells me that it is the switch which is not available anywhere. I would like to strip the switch to clean it etc and see if that works. The manual says remove the seat to remove the switch!
Does anyone know if you can remove the seat switch without removing the seat? There are two screw holes in the side of the switch which of course you cannot see into because of the tight quarters because they are close to the console trim work. I am thinking that a close access screwdriver might work but don't want to launch into it if it ends up being a mess or I break something.

Welcome aboard!

Pages 82 through 93 should help here: https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 010/SE.pdf

Looks like the seat will need to come out, and your dealer rep is full of it.

A quick search revealed those switches are readily available (part # 87066-1EJ2A)

Thank you AZhitman for the greeting and the response. The links that you provided for the part are all for the LH seat - ie driver's seat. I am looking for the passenger seat switch and therein lies the problem. I have not found anywhere that has it.
As the seat is pretty well in the back position, I cant see how to even get the seat out. Is that even possible if you cannot move the seat? How would one access the rear bolts?
I am ready to try to take the seat out if that is what it takes to get at the switch and take the switch apart to see if I can fix that. Any clues on any of this would be helpful.

Yep, I see the disclaimer in the FSM now:

"Never disassemble front passenger seat cushion assembly. (USA/Canada model only)
Always replace as an assembly. For front passenger seat service parts, refer to the service part catalogue."

In that case, I'd start scouring car-part.com for a matching passenger seat, and just swap them.

Hard to say without laying hands on it, but I'd guess if you can disconnect the harness underneath and apply 12v and ground to the correct pair of terminals, you could 'jumper' the fore/aft motor and move the seat temporarily to remove it.

Yea this is all very strange and very annoying. I cannot think of a reason why the seat cannot come apart. I think you hit it on the head though, buy a whole replacement cushion. Sigh....

I know this post is old, but I am curious if you ever resolved this passenger seat switch issue. I currently have the same issue. My battery had a slow draw on it and would not start after ~3 days idled. Mechanic traced it to a stuck passenger seat issue on my 2010 370Z. Strange since it really hasn't been used since day one. So, the thought is that it might be defective. Nissan does not sell the passenger seat switch separately on the 370Z. Only the left side, driver side, comes separately. You need to buy the whole seat cover to get the right passenger side, completely stupid in my opinion.

So interested to hear if you were able to resolve this issue?

Thank you
