Just as the topic states, I'm wondering if the 370's could be used with an FMU. I already have a rom tune for my 370's, but I'll just be running a t28. If I ever wanted to upgrade to say a much larger t3/t4, instead of getting a bigger injectors and a new tune could I just run the FMU with the 370's?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, I just thought about it after contemplating buying a decent sized borg warner.

If you already have a rom tune capable of handling boost and 370cc injectors your fine. A tuner might ask you what turbo your running but thats just to make you feel better about the cookie cutter tune you get.

With a Nissan ecu tune, all your doing is measuring airflow and adding fuel + messing with timing. If you put a bigger turbo on it, your MAF measures the extra air going in and compensates accordingly.

Ok, I'm just thinking if were to get a turbo that would move so much air it would start maxing out my injectors, would an FMU be able to compensate for that?

Dont throw an FMU into the equation if you have a ROM tune. You wont be happy with it. There will be dead spot in your powerband where the rich spike occurs. Just by switching over from an FMU with big pump and stock injectors (which blew my motor btw) to 370's and a ROM tune I gained lots of power and driveablility. Just get some 550's or 740's with a Z32 MAF and ROM tune to go with them and be done with it. The ignition timing is just as important as the fuel. Well, almost anyway. Question, why not just go with the bigger Borg-Warner? It would be a better match for your KA. Dont get me wrong, I also run a T28 on my KA, but I bought my car with the turbo setup already with it. I would actually like to change out my GT28R for a GTi-R T28 for the bigger A/R. If you haven't already got your T28, I would go with the GTi-R or one with a .86 A/R to reduce some backpressure. It is a pretty small turbine inlet for a 2.4L, the bigger the .AR the better in my opinion in the way of T28's.

FMU's aren't used with oversized injectors. Unless you have a standalone and are tuning for fuel pressure increases...which IMO is not a good path to follow anyway.

What you can do is increase the base fuel pressure a few lbs.

Ok thanks guys. I'm not going to do this, once I get a bigger turbo I'll get bigger injectors and a retune, I was just wondering if it would work the same way as 270's with an FMU. Thanks for the info!
