so i've tried searching to find out the theretical/actual limit of the sr 370cc injectors on a kat application...

i have a walbro pump (although i don't think this will make a difference once i take off the fmu) and i was considering just dropping in a set of 370cc sr injectors once i get my bikirom board and start tuning (which hopefully will be very soon but biki isn't done with everything so i'm just waiting in line to get my board/rom emulator/etc)... i'm looking at 10-12 psi max, so will these injectors do the job?

for those of you who are unfamiliar with bikirom's boards, they are basically diy tuning that is comparable to a jwt or enthalpy tune...

i'll be doing realtime tuning (with the help of some pretuned maps and a lot of help from biki) with a wideband and i was hoping to start out rich and work my way back, but if these injectors are too small then i will go with 450's... 550's are just way too much for what i want to do, and i like the idea of 370's because i can get them easier than others and at a good price, and i can use the stock rail and all that other good stuff... i'm not opposed to maybe spending the money for all of this later (nice top feed rail rail, top feed injectors obviously, etc) but at this point it's just unnecessary and this project is sort of a budget thing.

thanks for the help.

oh yeah, sorry it's a straight t3/t3 .48 exhaust, .42 compressor

it's small so much of the reason i won't go over 10-12 psi at this point is the fact that the t3/t3 i have may not be able to produce more than 10-12 psi on this engine. i'm going to upgrade things in the long run but at this point i am focusing on getting this fuel setup and tuning it on a lower boost setup to see how everything goes. if all is well and it turns out great then i will upgrade things and retune maps as i get money/ as i want more power/ as whatever happens...

this setup is going to cost a bundle (boards and all accesories, wideband o2 sensor, injectors, and other misc parts) so i want to try and minimize cost and tune for a low boost setup for my initial trials.

also i have been reading that the stock mafs (i have an s13) is good to about 250 hp at the ground... true?

10-12 lbs of boost is cutting it close to a KA MAF's limit, should probably go get a Z32 or the like.....especially if you plan on upgrading later...

i've run a little more than 13psi on my T3 super 60 and the maf was fine. I would think 10-12psi on a smaller turbo would be OK.

i think you'll be just fine with 370s.

The limit is about ~240rwhp, maybe ~250 safely...but that will be at 100% duty cycle.

From a straight T3 on a healthy KA...that will be in the 10-11psi range.

Food for thought - Brian

thanks for the replies

i want to keep the stock mafs if possible so i can minimize initial costs. in the event of something bad happening i want some cash so i can rebuild or replace the engine or do whatever i need to do to keep the car going...

when i upgrade the turbo to something a little bigger (i don't want much bigger because i love this response... it's just instant boost!!!) then i'll start moving up with top feed rail and all that stuff like i mentioned before. at this point though i just want to focus on putting down a solid 10-12 psi and tuning it well and seeing how the car responds. my aim is just getting things going properly with a good tune, i'm not concerned with pushing more than 12 psi, which i'm sure will have my turbo close to it's efficiency.

anyhow i'll be talking to biki a lot about my options and learning as much about this setup as possible before getting it so i can minimize down time. i think this will work out really well overall but i still have a lot to learn about this whole process (mostly just learning the software and stuff like that, and i have A LOT of reading to do about tuning... you'd be surprised at how many sites there are.)

MAN I HOPE THIS HAPPENS SOON!!!! i am getting soo antsy because i know it's gonna be sweet...

i can't wait to have a laptop in my car saying "damage to manifold!!" because i gave it too much NOS!!!! gotta love fast and furious. lol...

I'm running 10psi with a Z31 T3, 370cc injectors, and a Walbro. It'll support 10psi, but I've never tried higher. Probably 11 or 12psi is the limit with my setup. Also, the MAF is hitting about 80% max voltage at that flow, so it shouldn't be an issue until you start upgrading other things.

Any of you T3 guys have dyno charts to show?? I'm curious about where a T3 will make max hp and torque.

Crank up the base fuel pressure....more fuel pressure make any injector flow more, it also helps the injectors spray pattern when operating 75%
