I made one gamer tag but when I went to play L4D versus it said I couldn't? Once I used a 48hr trial it worked. Am I doing something wrong?

just create a whole new profile, sign up for live in the process, and it should give you a month free.

Yeah when it promps you to buy gold membership or stay silver you click stay silver and it automatically gives you one month of gold free!
