That seems really high! I paid 400 for my 30k maintenence and that included trans, anti freeze, powersteering, brake fluid, rotation, oil change, air filter, cabin air filter. It was alot an might have been too high but its my first new car so i don't mind spending the extra money to have the maintenece records.

Is 15k maintenance really necessary though? I read through what it entails, it seems like alot of stuff you can do yourself.

Do they flush the anti freeze, power steering, etc. out? Or just top it off?

Otherwise, rotating tires, oil change, air filter and cabin filter are all easily DIY stuff.

I just referred to my local nissan dealership for the 15k service, they charge $179.88 and for the 30k $298.99

Like I said on the FB, do it yourself. If you are worried about having the paper trail, have the dealership perform ONLY the things that are VITAL to the car's longevity such as oil changes, trans fluid, coolant, etc. Things like in cabin filters, tire rotations, performance wiper blades (lulz), and even brakes are not going to help your resale value in the long run. Get dirty and save the money.

They changed your trans fluid at 30K miles? Granted thats a $150 job at most places so you may have gotten a "good" deal, but you probably didnt need that done so early. I had mine changed at 70K and the tech told me it was just BARELY beginning to discolor. The shop I go to has 3 certified GT-R techs and they insist that the AC fluid should not be changed according to the maintenance schedule but rather according to inspection of the fluid.

I work at Napa an I've always been told to change transmission oil at 30k intervals. You can probably go longer than 30k but this is my first car ive purchased brand new an don't mind spending the money for what my car needs. I had read somewhere that they were supposed to check the fluid on a machine but I don't think my dealership did that.

For my 15k I didn't do anything special. Just oil change an rotation. I bring my own filter an oil to the dealership. Mobil 1 5w30 and a Napa Platinum Filter. I run the platinum 1356 instead of 1358, it is a little longer filter so it has more filter media. Its completely safe for the car, an actually better because it filters more.
