351W into an S13

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I have a 351W laying in my backyard. Its off a boat and it runs perfectly. I also have a 91 S13 which I was going to start a turbo build(ka-t). The 351W has a Holley carb and Edelbrock heads I was told it had around 300HP. My question is do you guys think is worth doing this swap. What problems may I come across. It is a boat engine I don't know if this will work. Will I be able to install a power steering setup/ A/C. I heard on a Ford forum that the 351W and the 5.0 use much of the same parts. I dont know Im lost and I need some input let me know what you guys think and if you know any sites that mite help.

It shouldnt have near 300hp maybe 220-240. Its mild boat motor, but its not a 351M so thats a plus. I would go for it, I dont know much about the ford swaps but it will be fun, but I would looking into some performance upgrades.

ahh just read no drives and stuff. Well 351's are easy to find. It would be cheaper to buy another then build that one up some and add a drive system probably. I would check craigslist and ebay for sometime.

If it doesn't have 300HP, then it's very easy to get. A simple intake/carb/cam combo will put you at 300whp very easily. The 302 from a fox body mustang can be sourced for all he pulleys and accesories. The transmission will work as well.

I did the KAT thing myself. I was putting down around 400 or so at 20psi on alcohol. I tossed a rod and it's been sitting since. I'm currently planning my SBC swap. Although I'm adding a single turbo to level the playing field with all these LS bastards...lol.

Any V8 will be almost instantly fun once it's in and running. The "Q" curve of the 351 is awsome and the sound is even better. Think 2800lbs and Q that is a throttle stab away. Fun Fun...loose the KAT idea.

Do it! The additional torque in 351Ws make stangs fly, your S13 would be ridiculous with the right setup. The accesories are easy to swap over from a 302. Which PN from Edelbrock are the heads? and is it a roller motor?

I don't think you need a turbo to level the playing field with a LS engine LOL

stock chevy vortec heads/edelbrock intake/650-750cfm carb/9:5-1 compression or more if you can.../LT4 hot cam will put you at about the power of a LS6 with off the shelf/cheap parts.....

200 dollar cam150 dollar intake400 dollar heads450 dollar carb150 dollar rockers4-1 headers

lethal combo for 400horsepower on a 350... the heads sort of top out at this cam lift.... so its not a good option if you want more and more power N/A..... but if your satisified with that kind of power.... vortec heads are a cheap way to go

this is what I was going to do and swap it into a FC until someone slammed into my car and I had to use my project money to get another car..... sucked ballz, I had a nice 200-4r transmission waiting too........
