Hey so i am not a noob in any way but i was changing one of the bulbs in my dash cluster on my 2005 covertable, and when i threw it all back together along with the steering column i noticed when i tried to start it it wont tun over.

I checked my bat power and chageed it more but its good, checked my fuses and i made sure i had only taken out the pin clip harness attachments so ther was no wiring issues.

I took my battery off many times and then hooked it back up and no change, it crancks hard and normal just wont turn over.

Only dumb thing is i didnt disconnect the battery when i swapped the bulb which i figured was no big deal, im thinkin do i have to reset the ecu? When im cranking the engine check light turns off so i dont think there is any codes.

any ideas?

take every thing apart you had apart and look for wires that you may have disconnected

you could try the ECU reset process, and tps reset.... it won't hurt anything if it doesn't work.

Sounds like it has something to do with the immobilizer.

Yup, try your spare key before you tear back into it.

+1^ on the immobilizer. sounds like an issue my friend had on his tundra. He got a duplicate key for his 06 tundra tried it out. Engine turned, but no ignition.
