you know the car scene has changed dramatically when someone says "a big 3.5 liter". haha i just find that amusing. back in the 70's it would have been "a big 455 cid" .

its amazing how far we've come in terms of efficiency and power to displacement ratio's.

yea really, but hell nowadays, most 6cyl are smaller than 3.5, well the ones in imports anyways, and most 4cyls are 2.o liters or smaller, while i have a BIG 2.5liter haha, the only time i ever say 'big' and mean it is when im talking about mark's 8.3 liter dodge viper v1o

In my opinion, the VQ is the greatest engine ever made (with the possible exception of the Chevy small-block), and without a doubt the greatest V6. Compared to the linear 6, the V allows for greater displacement in a given space (for the most part). Look at the linear 6. Most of them are under 3 liters (Jeep makes a 4 liter but that is pretty big). 3.5 liters may seem big now, but in the 60's you could get a 6 liter V6 in full size pickups. I can see V6's getting much bigger as we feed the new power rush. The VQ40 is only the beginning of the big-bore V6's we'll be seeing in the future. I forsee the 60's (automotively--please not socially) happening all over again, but this time its the V6 that will reign supreme, not the massive V8.

needs a better designed intake for startersthe 2 cylinders farthest from the trhottle body tend to not get enough air.

It seems if something goes terrible wrong on an engine that has received all maintence etc. It's the #5 or #6 cylinder,, The eariler blocks had a flaw in the block for cooling and always one on for injection...
