350Z vs 95Q

[Bayarea Q]

Saturday night I was on my way home, doing about 45 in a 40 zone. I look up and see some tiny bright lights in my rear view mirror. A metallic gold color Z with new plates zoomed by me @ about 70mph. About a block or two ahead the light was red. When I pulled up next to the Z at the light I looked over to see two young oriental guys who were out looking for a race. The light turned green and neither of us decide to punch it...we just edge out into the intersection nose to nose. Right before the crosswalk I decided to punch it. I said **** it, let's see what the Q can do.....I punched it @3000 RPM's and I took off, I heard the Z punch it right as I did. I think I got about a car lenght ahead of him...as I was pulling hard in first, I heard him shift (he hit second hard)as I'm shifting to second he pulled hard on me and I could now see him on my left. But the Q was still ahead, and was beginning to hit full power in second!! We were neck and neck he gained on me a little and might have got ahead of me by an inch or so....but he had to shift into 3rd and I got back ahead by a foot or two. Than we had to shut it down because of a red light. I do have to say that the Z stops very fast, I think to save face he kept going just to be sure he was ahead of me before he shut it down. No way the Q would have stopped.

You should have seen the look on their faces.....I was all smiles!! They wanted to race a few more times, but I declined as it was Saturday night. (Cops favorite night)

Little did they know that if they would have taken off from the line the Z would have left me. This expierence has totally removed the thought of wanting one of these newer so called faster cars. I love my Q!!!

I love the Q's. They are one of my favorite rides. Actually, sometimes I think about selling my J to get either a Q or a QX4. Dont know though.

great story!!!!!! makes my purchase of my 90Q seem all the more better!!!! like i've been telling everyone, the Q is one the all-time "sleeper" cars. you made my day!! jeff
