So, I was in my mom's car tonight (335xi) cruising DPA when a 350z (HR) pulls up next to me wanting to go. At first I was thinking this guy is silly, but w/e. so we get to the light, once it turns green he stayed in 1st, I flicked up the steptronic into 2nd and we both gunned it, I had him beat, but he was a car behind the whole time. I was thinking to myself "Holy Crap, this car is no joke". So we pulled to a second light and once it went green we rolled a little, up to 30 and both gunned it, I was in second and so was he, and we were nose and nose the whole time. I pulled up to him and complimented him on his car, turns out he only had cold air intakes on it.

only downfall with my car was that it was an all wheel drive, so the weight was holding the engine's power back, and we don't have the sports package on it which will help it perform better. so with those 2 things I'm sure it would of leaned more towards me winning without a doubt.

But just to say it, those Z's are quick man!! Just wanted to show some respect

and thats my story lol :mike :mike :mike

im actually contemplating on whether or not i should take over the car when the lease is up, unfortunately its all base except for cold weather, pro logic audio, ipod/usb hook up, and a couple other things, but like you said with a tune an exhaust and an intake, i should be hitting low 4's possibly 4 flat 0-60 and also looking at really good quarter times

335xi are RIDICULOUSLY FAST. one guy here in quebec uses it regularly on the dragstrip an destroys EVERYTHING.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gadg8u3IB6E almost as fast as a brand new 911 turbo. 3.5sec 0-60 is INSANE.

he has the JB3 tune I was talking about! with catless downpipe and exhaust and maybe 1 or 2 other things. thats what I want but 335i instead of 335xi..... no point for AWD in California, especially if it's an automatic. as much as I'd like a stick, when I get me a 335i I'm going to have to get an auto so my fiance can drive it too.

well they say the auto is just as fast at stick, if not faster.

if i get a tune, i think i would go with Dinan because it fully replaces the factory BMW warranty. if it doesn't have a warranty when i get it/if i get it, i wouldn't know what to go with because i definitely want the power, but i don't wanna destroy my car, another reason why I would stick with Dinan

you do realize that the Dinan stage 3 tune puts the same exact power as the JB3 tune BUT cost over $2,000? why dont you just get the extended warranty until 100K miles from BMW. you can extend the warranty as long as it hasnt expired yet (as long as the car doesnt have 50k miles). plus with the JB3 tune, you can unplug it and put it back to stock in like 15 min. so you dont have to worry about that messing up your warranty

I never knew the prices of each of the tunes, but since you brought that up, it makes more sense to get the JB3 tune. We'll see what happens when the lease is up next year.

Hard to beat that. I knew they were quick but I never realized that they were that quick. Unbelievable!
