350z vortech SC oil tap issue

hello, we are installin a 350z vortech kit and we are trying to tap the block/ oil pan for the return line, but the fitting suplied is larger than tap size they suggested we use, i am stumped, they sent us a pilot, but that is off on the sizes has anyone done this installl and could offer me some advice

I installed my Vortech a few years ago and it came with the correct fitting. They included that nice rotobroach cutter but not the 3/8 NPT tap.
