I hear that you can swap the 300zx tt transmission for the sr20det trani, so can you swap the 6 speed 350z trani to the sr20det?

ive been looking into this as well, as of right now the answer is no. you need to fabricate a custom bracket, and mounts ect.. lots of work and a custom clutch ect.. lots of work

it would be sweet to have a 350z 6 speed, but i think you would have to get the 350z diff as well . the short 4.08 gears and the close ratio 6 speed may be too short imo

I am not sure about that yet but I did read in a magazine that nismo has a 6 speed built for the SR20 and comes built up to any specs you want.

yeah i saw that to in d sport like a month are 2 back about a nismo 6 speed for a s15 and hks makes 1 for the sr20 but it's like retarted expensive here it is

http://www.hksusa.com/info/?id=2081

it is a bad azz dog gear transmission but is 13000 dollars for the 5 speed and another 1300 for the 6 speed i was tring to get away with not spending that for a transmission

my buddy has done a 350z drivetrain swap, so as long as the vq and the sr 20 det are close to the same size you sould be able to use the mounts they use in the kit, and the shifter relocator. is the 300zx and 350z the same motor block? i know that the VE and VG are the same blocks, how about the VQ block?

I have the 350z transmission on my SR20DET for a long time ago. It works fine and with some imagination it can be done.

You can see part of my swap here:http://www.cardomain.com/ride/481486/2

The input shaft need to be cut in order to use the stock flywheel and clutch. At the end the car. Sorry my page is in spanish.

He cut the bell housing of one trans that mounts to the motor and cut off the front of 6spd trans and welded it back together, not easy to get straight/lined up.

I thought about taking a KA auto trans housing and getting it machined to mount to a machined 6spd trans. but then the rear diff gear is gonna be wrong, you won't have a speedo unless you use 350z axels and sensors. Correct me if any of this is wrong, but the trans mounting might be the easiest part of the swap. everything else is a custom event. Look up the Kid and his dad that built the full 350z drivetrain into an s13, look how they mounted the diff and tell me you want to dive in to that project. I don't have that kind of time.

And unless he is using the 350 diff its not gonna be fun to drive, much less care about MPGs.
