I will say yes, it is possible. All you need is the transmission plus $20k for parts and labor.

lol, this all sounds a bit backward. I'd rather have a 350z 6speed trans put into my 3.5, oh and an HR motor to top it off. :D

Dave, it all depends how much money you got. Yes, it can be done but there will be a lot of cutting and welding involved. First, your car is FWD and the transmission from the Z is on a RWD configuration. In order to do this, you will literally need to strip the car down and cut and weld in a channel for the drive shaft. My friend who owns the 2004 black "Cadence" Altima is actually doing this to his car. He has a VK56DE motor with a G37 transmission and a 350 rear. :chuckle: He also did a wire tuck so you can't see any of the wires. He's still working on it but I can't wait to see it when he's done. If you're going to go this route, buy a VQ35HR motor with transmission and ecu and the 350 rear and have the work done. I can tell you it's not going to cheap but you'll be the first AltimaCoupe that's rear wheel drive! :yesnod

Is it necessary to convert it to RWD? Is the 350Z auto transmission physically longer then the CVT? I'm with DReed; it would be interesting to know if it is possible, and me personally I'd rather have my balls removed then to have to deal with a manual trans on a daily bases. But, unfortunately at this point CVT as to be swapped with something if you're going to heavily mod.

but like you said D Im sure it possible with lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

this was always going to be a down the road project but looks like Ill have to throw this in the imposibily folder :tisk:

As with most modifications of this nature, it is worth it if you are sponsored

Doubt that a company would fully sponsor a project like this unless it was a SEMA build or have the right marketing contacts. At best, the average "joe" would likely get a sponsored pricing meaning partial sponsor. ie..you buy the parts and the company installs and gets the publicity..

Quite unlikely as makes sense to ... well, buy the damn Z to get the end result
