Not too much info out there on my question on here or google.

I got a 350z trans for free. Nothing is wrong with it but will go through it to make sure. I had a KA24DE donor block but that fell thru so I cant mock it up out of car and my 240 is a daily driver. I know of a company maxdor or something like that that makes an adapter kit for the Z32 trans to bolt to the KA but they what $1000 for witch in my eyes is BS rapping price. Has anyone done this yet or know if the input shaft will fit the crank. The bolt up plate I'm not too worried about, I just want to know if they will mate. Starter and stuff like that will be worked out with the plate. Or if yall think 6 spd on a KA is pointless let me know that too.

Thanks for yalls input.

BS rapping? Vanilla Ice has to eat too you know...

Get a caliper and measure the input shaft against the crank hole. You'd better check and make sure the clutch splines are long/short enough to engage the clutch disk at the depth it will sit. You may also need to make your own pilot bearing. Good luck, if you pull this off I think a lot of people are going to want to talk to you.

I bet when they start working on it the price goes up....just do the 5 spd swap and call it a day I don't see any advantage using a z33 trans and if its an 06+ trans you can sell it and make some decent money, if its a 03-05 trans they don't get as much

Agreed. It was freakin free! Sell it, take the cash and dump it into upgrading your 240. If its your daily driver, your car could be down for awhile if there is some custom work that ends up needing to be done to make it fit. Thats a headache, so why bother? At least see how much you could get for it if you sell it. That dollar amount might help you decide if its worth it to even pursue this...

Why put another five spd in that yea is alittel stronger than the stk one. I have started my parts pile on the upgraded necessities for a turbo KA. I work at a nissan dealer and sometimes I can come across good deals or steals to my benefit. On top of that I think a 6 spd KA would be sweet and if I calculated correctly will not hurt my gearing.

Yea Ver I was wondering about that. I need to get a donor block bad so I can do a complete mock up out of the car so I can swap it in one weekend. I am planning on getting all of my parts lined up and taking a few days off from work to install everything.

Got to run thx for the input so far, keep it coming

Pick up a cheap KA and tell us how it works... I really don't like how low the KA tops out and cruising at 3k RPM's on the highway is weak sauce.

WTF are you talking about? 118 isn't enough for you? OK....

If you don't like cruising at 3000 rpms give it more gas...

So do you mean that 3k RPM's is too high for just cruising, or too low? I personally would like to see the RPM's be about 2.5k @ 70... That would save me a ton on gas. So I guess I could see the benefit to having the 350z transmission in there, but I just think its gonna be a pain to get it in there. Good luck though. If you aren't gonna sell it you might as well tackle this and tell us if its even worth doing. If its a easy swap, this may be worth doing.

If I get it to work easy than I will look into helping my fellow NICO clubers out with the mats and in and outs. Just going to take time to fab.

Well, keep us posted, cause a six speed 240 would be cool, especially if the gears allow more economical usage of gas and dont hurt the performance...whats the difference in gearing for a 240 vs the 350z?

Dont have the numbers in my head but there was a good right up on all the gearing. If I am thinking correctly I would be able to do 35 in first gear and with the 5 spd now we redline at like 30. I am starting to think this is going to take alittel longer than I plan to try and get put together but thats okay.. I have more time than money right now.

For a performance car, no 118 isn't fast enough.

And what do you mean give it more gas? If I am cruising on the highway at 75-80 it's about 3k rpms. Which is to loud and fuel inefficient for me
