Ill post this in the multimedia forum but thought id share it with the Z people first

He just doesn't get it. Top gear did end up naming it the value sports car of the year, If I remember correctly.

and while I love clarkson, Tif Needle is still the best. Tiff loves the Z, maybe we can find the 5th gear where he reviews it. He really violates it.

Contrary to what peopel think the Z is simply not a heavy car. It's 3,300 pounds, and if you take out the spare tire/jack/floormats/rear cargo mat, you have it down to about 3,200 pounds.

It's just simpyl well built, with an incredible stiff chasis. It feels much heavier then it is. Very similar to the supra, which really didn't weigh that much either, but people thought it did, because it felt heavy IE well built

It's just like the edmunds article

They bash it for having a hard ride. They say it will outhandle an rx8 on the road course, but because it requires more driver skill to get the best times, they prefer the more easy to drive RX8

I used to hate on the 350z. Fairly stupid, considering I hadn't even driven one.

As I said before, you either get this car or you don't. It clicks on you the first time you drive it, or you have a clarkson experience.

For me it clicked, and I owned it as soon as I drove it.

Also the Base and Enthusiast are both <under> 3200 lbs stock.

Its the ( much tested) Track w/ a couple options, thats 3300 and the Anniversary is pushing 3400.

But most Z's out there are less than 3200 given the sales mix

Really?

So if I strip out all the floormats, rear cargo mat, spare tire, jack, washer fluid.. I could be looking at 3,100-3,200?

That's hot

Manual tranny Z's in 05 weigh :

3,188 for the base and 3,197 for the Enthusis.

Take some stuff out, weigh whats out and you have your new curb weight.

Me neither...and considering the 05 got the JD power initial quality award..well...

I've had other Z's, an Z13, and this car pitched just like I wished it would on my extended test drive...

3,197lbs isnt bad for a new sports car...there's plenty out there heavier.

I love my Z, anyone whos been in it loves it..and I get stopped all the time with "Nice dude...." or "Whoa...can I look inside? I dream of that car" (this one was said with a guy in a Jaguar XKR next to me..I thought he was talking to that guy until he walked over)

It's a bunch of trolls/whiners.. Just look at the G35, notice how the 05s don't have the options for brembos anymore?? Moronic owners whining about replacement costs, unreal.

The Z is a loud rawkus sports car. It's slighty uncivilized, loud, unluxurious, and that's what I love about it.

Go drive an M3 and compare its civility to a 330i, worlds of difference. The BMW owners are adult enought o know what the M name means, I think the Z is to good looking and way to affordable which leads to people buying it who don't understand the kind of vehicle it is.

Yeah that dude is a tard. He doged the C6 Vette also if that tells you anything.

My 350z is awesome! I wouldn't trade it for anything up to the $40K price range.

I think he's just bitter because the 240Z literally put a number of independent british car manufacturers out of business.

He's not bitter at all.

I never miss a new Top Gear, I have them all archived, if you'd like. I think it's the best car show ever made.

Anyway he's British, so he is very paticular. He didn't like the Vette because of the interior and feel of the car. He did say it handled very well, and it performed well on the course driven by the Stig.

Anyway he likes lots of JDM cars, just not this one
