I just recently put on Yokohama Avid w4s on the front and rear. They are a great tire, especially for the price. I m very pleased with the traction in both dry and wet conditions. Pretty aggressive looking pattern too. I would recomend them. Since we all know that whatever tire we put on wont last, their is no reason to buy n really expensive tire. They just wont last on our cars.

Tommy was talking about All-Season tires, KDW's are UHP Summer tires. In any case General Exclaims are a less expensive UHP Summer tire with better grip and a higher mileage rating.

Special order? You can get them directly from Tire Rack. That must make my recent Amazon purchases special order too. I'm surprised you didn't choose a better all season tire given the amount of snow you're likely to run into. Well, at least they're cheap.

Tommy, I highly recommend that you stay with Potenzas…of the RE960AS variety. They’re the closest thing to an actual snow tire that I’ve encountered in an all season tire. I wrote up a brief review that you can read here.

Looks like you're waiting on the fronts - they've got less than 2 in stock.

I'm wondering why they're on closeout.

I put Toyo proxes II on my Z and love them. They have great traction in wet or dry conditions and once I got the hang of it they aren't too bad in the snow either.

Why did you buy pilot sports? They will not last any longer than any other tire. You had to pay a ton for those.

I didn't buy them for lifespan (even though they have a 500 treadwear rating and a 45000 mile warranty for the tread) - I bought them because I've used pilot's on all my other cars and have loved them - after going through the hideous oem bridgestones on my car, i'm not changing brands - I love Michelin tires.

Hey more power to you if you can afford the most expensive tires on the market. Besides just because they have a 45,000 mile warranty does not mean that they will give you a new tire if your tread is gone and it blows. My Yokohamas have a 60,000 mile warranty, but they will not last but at most 25,000.

Actually, the Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S is more expensive than the Pilot Sport A/S Plus...and the pilots got better reviews.

I m not saying that the pilot sports are not a great tire, because they are one of the best. I m just saying that for me personally being a college student on a budget, that my Yokohamas were the best value.

Lol - i'm not arguing back, I'm just stating some facts I've noticed when I did my shopping for my tires.

I know what it's like being on a budget in college - its nice being out of college though and can afford the stuff I want

I ran Exclaims all the way up into November here with no problems. General has them stamped with an M+S rating, but I'm not so sure that they'd provide anywhere near the grip of the Potenza A/S tires I'm using now.

I'll most likely switch back to the Exclaims once Spring completely arrives. Part of me would love the ease of just running the Potenzas year round, but the cost of replacing them vs the Exclaims is significant and the bang for buck factor on the Exclaims is amazing, with a great treadlife for a summer tire too. With the money I save I can pick up a third set of track only/auto-x tires...if I can find some space for them in the garage.

pirellis are way too expensive and overrated IMO for street cars.

BFG g-forces are good tires...

I got my LMGT$s wrapped in Nitto Invos and they are amazing... a little higher in price but it was well worth it.
