Hey guys i have an 04 350z and my sub woofer is shorting out while i drive. Either it's the amp or the sub woofer itself. Can anyone tell me how to open that darn hatch to take a look at the sub woofer? thanks

If by "hatch" you mean the plastic sub woofer cover behind the drivers seat, then yes. simply pry it off from the bottom. start near one side, and use a flat screwdriver to snap it off. its just held on by 4 clips. After the cover is off, use a 10mm to take out the sub( dont use a screwdriver cuz it will strip the bolts)

if you wanted to take a look at the amp, its located in the trunk under the left hand side foam cover.

good luck

The info on the sub and amp is a little different. Pry the cover from the top side. The bottom has angled plastic guides which will break if pryed from the bottom. The sub amp is located to the left of the sub. It is held in place with 2 10 mm bolts. The amp harness goes right to the sub.

Is a common problem with the amp, if it's still under warranty they will replace it free on a bose recall

lol - worried about stripping the bolts but you're going to make him snap the tabs off at the bottom...definitely just use your fingernails or something soft to get the edge and gently pry it from left to right starting just below the top left corner. it will just pop and pull out from the top when you get it out enough---
