Hey everyone. Quick question for today. hopefully someone will help me out here. Im looking to buy a replacement muffler. Just the muffler, not the entire cat-back. I've been looking for a stock replacement all night online and It seems like I can't find it anywhere. If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. I've been searching for the past hour and all I find are performance replacements.

Thanks

yes you can order it from a nissan dealer, better if you can find someone upgrading to aftermarket and get theirs cheap but the dealer will be able to provide the new replacement part

Yeah, Im still looking for one. I like the sound and the looks. I plan to do some custom welding with someone whose certified, and putting it onto my 96 i30. But Im not sure if theres enough clearance to put it where it should be. Right underneath the spare tire. Customizing is not a issue, but im not going to do it if it sticks out and looks like crap. Any thoughts on that? Im going to check out with an exhaust shop before i let you know anything.

uh, if your not putting it one a Z why not just get a universal mufler and some mandrel bends?

Thats my original thoughts as well but I like style, however the 350z won't fit, thats for sure. Why not get something unique that not many people have. If I have to, I will just weld mandrel bent from the cat to the muffler like you said. I thought it over, it wouldnt make a diffrence wether I welded a "Y" connector somewhere along the line and did a dual muffler setup. I worry about where to split it. somewhere after the highflow cat but before the spare tire well, is what im thinking. I don't know too much about exhaust systems so I don't know if by doing something like that if I might end up decreasing the pressure of the exhaust flow by splitting it and end up losing power. i might start doing some searches on that but any input on that would be appreciated.

it shouldn't pose a problem, free flowing muffler or mufflers should not casue any loss, no muffler at all might hurt bottom end a bit on an N/A but would still open up top end, stick to quality name brand parts and you should be abe to run single or dual, the I30 is I am guessing VG30DE powered? same as the n/a z32, and they have full dual, I'd look at the setup they run, I'd suggest either 2.5 duals or 3" single all mandrel bends with a free flowing mffler or mufflers of appropriate size inlet and outlets
