Ok so Im thinking I am going to lower my G with the 350z springs..

Is that all I need to buy is the springs?

do the shocks stay the same?

anyone have their 350z springs for sale?

is it hard to install on my own?

Do you have any rubbing of tires when going over bumps? I am running 225 40 19 and 245 40 19R

anything else I should know or that I am missing

You are lucky sire.im actually selling my z springs. this is the revised 05 suspension. the springs have around 20k on them so a long life left. well it would be best if you would change the the shocks/struts as well, but it is not necessary. ur stock shocks should be able to handle it. there is no rubbing issue. you actually can install it your self, it is just time consuming. there are some DIY's as well, so its pretty easy if you follow them. lemme know if your interested. i still have the springs on my car because i wanna get some lower springs. i like it SLAMMED

Do you have any pictures of your car on the springs? What is the difference... I don't like the low rider slammed look! I just want it a little lower and to get rid of the gap in the front suspension.

oh and from everything I'm seeing... the front isn't just a spring... it is a strut. is that correct... does the spring come off the stock shock and then you put the new shock on?

The front is a compressed spring shock combo similar to honda style. The rear is seperate from one another. spring perch is seperate from shock mounts. Its not hard to do, but ive lowered dozens of cars.

Dropped on tein s-techs:

nice, do you think that the front is way lower than the rears when you are dropped on tein s techs? or does it look pretty balanced?

Ok so here is my problem..

Im at the dealership right now and I was having a problem with the back tires rubbing the fender wells.

I never had this problem before. and when they replaced the compression rods it caused this. Now they are telling me that their is noting they can do... is it hard to roll the fenders?

Why are they rubbing? Are you lowered?

I think the 350Z setup is perfect for someone who doesn't want to lower it too much.

Plus, with the shocks and springs you have evenly matched dampening rates.

I would only get just springs/coilovers if I wanted to go for a "slammed" look. I really don't want to rub though.

As for rolling the fenders, I have heard of a lot of people doing it themselves. Some places will roll them for you, and they shouldn't charge very much.

It just barely rubs the fender wells. It isn't lowered or anything. I guess when they installed new compression rods it got softer and now it rubs. I just never had that happen before.

I have the stock coupe rims... 245 40 19 rear and 225 40 19 front.

what do you guys think I should do?

There's something seriously wrong if your stock setup is rubbing.

Is there something I'm missing here?

switch to a 235/40/19i rubbed a bit with my 18 inch coupe rim and 245 rears.I believe the coupe offset on our sedans can only handle a 235 in the rear...IMO

235's are way to skinny on the rear of the G... Look like a womans car!

275 would be the best IMHO.

I have had 245 40 19's on my G for 2 years now and Never had a problem

Your rims are Coupe rims on a Sedan right?

Thats weird that you started rubbing just recently. 245's are not that wide for the rear.

Your compression rods SHOULD NOT affect how the rear end rides. Those are only in the front end.

what would cause the rear end to be rubbing...

Never done any suspension work to the car!

Never even have fat people in the car...

I am lost and pissed about this!

They Dealership told me that these rims shouldn't fit on the car... Im like I have had these on their for 2 years and never had any problems but now all of a sudden I have problems!

Your tires are rubbing because I'm sure they did an alignment after replacing the compression rods. They probably dialed in more postive camber, which brings the top of the tire further out. Even when I was lowered and had -1.5 camber in the rear, my tires would rub on the coupe 18" wheels and z suspension. The tire is too tall (245/45/18), which is why it rubbed. I would also have the alignment specs checked for the rear to see where your camber is actually set at if you never had rubbing before. If you run about -1.6 to -1.7 rear camber, you should be able to continue running the oem tire size for the 19" wheels. If not, a fender roll will easily give you 10-15 mm more of clearance and you will have no more issues, lowered or not. Rolling the fender is cake, take your time, use a heat gun.

What ever you do, DON'T run Revised Z springs on your oem shocks. They aren't dampened properly to handle the increased spring stiffness of the revised rear z springs. Even if you had the sport tuned suspension, I still would not recommend this setup. If you are going to use the revised z springs, I suggest using springs and shocks combined together from the z.

So I could take it and have it aligned and then have them fix the rear end so that it doesn't rub?

It is worth a try, there is no other reason why it should be rubbing on stock ride height and nobody sitting in the back.

2005 or newer (technically 2004.5, but its easier to find newer setups right now)

Hell find somebody selling 2007-2008 setup with hardly no miles and call it a day. You should spend no more than 200 dollars for a complete suspension setup from a z, springs and shocks front and rear.

Tampa,

Just came into some Espelir springs for a G sedan. Let me know if you want them. They'll be CHEAP. Drop is a little more than the 350z springs though. Probably another .6" for a 1.6" drop front and back.

No problem. Just thought I'd throw it out there for you first.

My I30 was dropped over 2 inches and that was fun...hehe.
