Hey everyone, I would just like to know if anyone has achieved the engine sound of a 350z out of a 300zxTT, I love the sound of the 350z's and I've had trouble picking an exhaust, since I dont want the sound of "rice"...

I'd like the exact sound of a stock 350z, or that, but louder, anyone have any suggestions?

IMO Z32's have a very distinct exhaust sound. The VG makes a nice deep tone with a quality catback.

The VQ from the Z33 makes a much different sound and I've never heard a Z32 sound like a Z33 or vice versa.

And I must say...the HKS Hiper on my Z sounds amazingly sexy. Deep, clean, classy, and mean.

I love the sounds of the HKS, i just hate the angled look of the mufflers, and the single outlets on each side... i just dont like it, i know its personal taste, but i'd rather have the dual tip twins straight out

also 3 inch pipes are just too loud for me, I don't want the exhaust to be what makes people stare, i want the look to be what catches them

How about B&B or Stillen? They both make a dual tip (or atleast used to) that fits the bill of what you want with the dual straigh tips and 2.5" piping

I don't have a sound file of it, but I heard a car at Z car nationals with it. Wasn't bad at all.

that is the labree/sebring same thing and thats what i have and its very very nice not loud, but deep toned and sexy i have mine with the H pipe and resonators and its still an aggressive yet refined sound. sounds beautiful if you want yours a bit deeper and louder go with the x pipe with or with out the resonators. IMHO

Its deep indeed. X-pipe without resonators is the way to go. And as for "ricey" sounding, I've never heard a Z32 sound ricey with any quality catback system.

If you want the sound of a 350z then go buy one or swap in a VQ. Every engine has it's own sound.

I dont really like that low hollow sound of"vwoom vwooom" noise, if you can understand what i mean. I like the noise, just not that low. I think ill go with sebring

if you want a car that sounds like a ferarri buy a ferarri, if you want a car that sounds like a VW with an exhaust leak buy a civic with a grapefruit shooter

the Z32 though a quality aftermarket exhaust will not sound like a Z33 but beautiful in it's own right, I personally love the rasp of a high well tuned L6, makes the naughty bits tingle :p

the x pipe has a less restrictive flow than the h pipe and the resonators take out some of the bark kind of like a pre muffler i guess (feel free to correct me if im wrong guys) but i can tell you this with the sebring you wont piss your neiboors off at low rpms pullin into your drive way but you also wont be disappointed when you get up into your rpms. also i experience no drone with mine at all. just deep tone. at idle it bass like and more felt than heard. i dunno how to explain it. anyway yes its expensive but i dont regret my decision that i bought it. plus delievery was pretty quick the day i bought it he sent it out.

I run custom stainless with APEXi Dunks, no cats, no resonators, just an X-pipe. X-Pipe also helps to blend the tones of the VG's uneven firing order. On my TT motor it's very deep and not very loud at idle..it's hellraising at WOT though, but that's the idea.
