I am looking to upgrade my shocks.

I've done some research on the 350z shocks upgrade but haven't been able to find enough info I'm looking for, so i have some questions that will probably get answers other than "use the search button".

I have an 04 sedan.

I read that 350z setup will lower my car 1" (coupe 0.5").

Apparently there are some differences between the 03-04 and 05-06 350z springs? Can anyone elaborate on this?

Also, what kind of camber change am I looking at? I'm guessing even after alignment it will be way out of spec. Is there a camber kit that will fix this (or help a little bit).

How much should I expect to pay. Some people said they paid ~$250.

Any other info would be appreciated. I'd love to hear from others who run this setup.

Thanks!

the 2003-2004 suspension was revised in 2004.5+. I believe the shock/spring combo wasn't as stiff. Then improved them so make sure you get the revised set.

You should expect to pay around $150-$250 for a complete set shipped.

With the car lowered on these springs, its about the max you can really go without putting it at too much negative camber. I didnt put a camber kit on mine and it seems fine.

I love it. Runs a little bit stiffer, which is felt instantly and I think the stance looks a lot meaner now.

Since you have a "sport tuned suspension" on your sedan, you can just run the unrevised 350z springs. Drop is 1" all the way around. You will need alignment afterwards. You will be able to get the car back into specs if not damn close if you use the specs for a coupe of the same year.

The difference between z suspensions is close to what tollboothwilley stated, except the suspension was as stiff or stiffer, because the rear spring rates were raised to 427 and the front stayed the same. the shocks were revised to take out the bumpy ride the unrevised setup had.

You shouldn't need a camber kit as I have ran three different z setups and never had any alignment issues. I ran the z springs on my sport suspension, a complete 06 (revised) suspension and now the nismo s tune suspension, which dropped the car even more than the other two.

A recap:

unrevised z suspension= 03-04 350z ( spring rates front 314/rear 342revised z suspension= 04.5-current (spring rates front 314/rear 427you can run unrevised springs on sport tuned suspension sedan shocks/struts*don't under any circumstances run the revised rear springs on sport tuned shocks/strut from the sedan.*1" dropped will be achieved.camber correction parts aren't necessary.

A 04.5+ Z rear spring will have 2 red dot's and 1 pale purple dot. A 03/04 rear Z spring will have either 2 red dot's only or 2 red dot's and 1 white dot.

Thanks a lot. These posts are very informative.

So let me see if I understand.

Either get a revised full set (shocks + springs), or get non-revised springs only?

Can you explain what is wrong with putting the revised springs on the sedan sport tuned suspension struts?

revised springs have a stiffer spring in the rear. the sport tuned shocks can't dampen the spring rate properly.

Sorry, i didnt notice the sport suspension on your car at first...

Ya, the mismatching of the spring/shock rates will wear out the rear end very fast if you put revised springs on.

so with unrevised z suspension= 03-04 350z ( spring rates front 314/rear 342)

It hardly seem like improvement!

In that case, should I just go with a full set of revised (shocks + springs) ?
