I know stillen makes one, is there any other company doing one or does stillen own that market? I want one that doesnt interfere with the stock hood.

Ya know i could've sworn there was another, but all i can seem to find now are the centrifugal SC's. Well besides the stillen of coarse. I honestly feel i have seen one, but i could be mistaken. Don't stop looking until you know for sure. I'll keep looking too..... i know i saw it somewhere. Hopefully someone who knows what they are talking about chimes in here....

I thought the stillen was a twin screw? still positive displacement, abd I believe they are the only ones doing the positive displacement as it requires their special hood to clean the blower, I'd mush rather use a centrifigul, better yet turbo

Im not much of a centrifugal kind of guy, I love turbo's. Oh yes. However, for this build, i want more power down low for street driving and dont really want more than 350whp. In this application, the stillen uses an eaton (roots type) not twin screw, positive displacement type supercharger.

what about a smaller ball bearinrg turbo? with stock compression spoolup should be instant, for that matter skip the intercooler and it'll spool faster as well

WILL NOT have the same effect, not to mention the small turbo puts a serious restriction on the exhaust for higher rpms, roots type>small ball bearing turbo.

So basically what you just told me is you dont know another company that makes one, but werent sure enough about it to just tell me that. You might have been trying to help, but i didnt ask anything about help with a turbo. I dont need explaining about how a small turbo will give me what I need/want out of the vq, nor telling someone to skip an intercooler on a turbocharged vq with stock compression...

Sorry I am just venting, I just do not understand your logic on why you told me anything other than what I asked about?

How do people become moderators?

I told you that I didn't think anyone else made a positive displacement SC for the Z33, noting that it requires hood clearnacing which is why I feel it's a bad idea and why no-one else to my knowledge makes one.

Factory turbo Z cars 81 through 89 all came without the benefit of an intercooler, granted their CR was lower but some of the kits on the market today are intended to be run at low boost and offer the intercooler as an option. Modenr combustion chamber design allows us to run more boost and higher compression without fear of detonation. These are legitimate ways to move the powerband to meet the individuals demands, all without the parasidic power loss of a SC. you stressed the importance of down low poer taht generally comes with a sacrifice up top.

to my knowledge the market does not offer what you want so I offered options, I am sorry of they do nto meet your needs, as for what make me qualified to be a mod........I knwo a thing or 2 about Z's amd turbo's.....
