Hey guys,I'm looking at getting some brand new 6-spoke 350z rims. Has anyone seen this on a Q. If so, please let me know what they look like - good or not. What do you think is a good price for a set, with new tires..I'm at $900.00 or so right now...Thanks -

900 per set with tires sounds like a good deal for hi end alloys w/ what I expect to be good perfomance tires.

Check the load rating and if its good go for it.

6-spoke rim. The 350z only weighs 3188, my Q weighs almost 4000 lbs. Still looking for the load rating on the tire...do you think the difference in weight is too much?

It <is> quite a bit of difference, but I am pretty sure on a wheels thats is actually hi end OEM qulaity you wont see any catasrophic wheel failure due to that.

I'd watch the tires load rating more carefully though for safety's sake.

17’s; 225 front 235 back all trannyies18’s; 225 front 235 back for auto18’s; 225 front 245 back for stick

I couldn't find the tire brand, but with a 4250lb car you are going to be at the limit of the tires.

Most performance tires that size are rated at 1000-1100lb each, very close to the limit. I would call the dealer and ask what brand tires are used, from there its easy to determine (at the manufactures web-site)

Yeah, you better keep it off the race track. Once you find out what tires are actually on the rims, go to Tire Rack, to see what the actual load ratings are, and to see if they will work for your Q.

I doubt if Infiniti would spec their wheels so close, that the rims would fail on a Q. A 350Z would have close enough loads at its lateral limit to a Q at its lateral limit, that the wheels should be fine.

NICO members have been putting Z wheels on Q's for years.

Using overloaded tires significantly reduces their tread wear life and speeds internal minifailures which causes them to go out of balance faster. Not to mention the safety aspects and insurance liability.

When you use over loaded tires your insurance company can deny your claims/coverage because there is a clause that you must use oem fitments and notify them when you intentionally modify your covered car.

You will be found automatically negligent in court [in most states]for improper equipment if an accident investigator [usually only in severe injury cases will they send one to look] finds the modifications.

Using overload wheels and tires is the scariest thing I see on heavy Q other than cars with 4 different brand tires. At least most fairly competant independent brake jobs stop within +25% of oem specs.

I am still searching for the load rating of the Z tires. I went to one of my local Nissan dealers today - asked a few of the sales people what the load rating was for the Z rims, absolutely clueless. I then went to both the parts dept. and service dept - again clueless. The svc mngr said I should not have any problems with the Z rims on my Q - I asked if the load rating was 1000-1100 lbs per rim - he didn't even know what I was talking about - He said, "I have no way of knowing that". I obviously don't want to be found negligent for any insurance claims, etc...

Does anyone know the load rating of the rims + tires...Sorry for the long post - thx for any info anyone has...

Well, it's a done deal...the guy received my $$ today. Soon I'll have my '03 350Z rims, 17's with 225/50/17 potenza's on the front and 235/50/17's on the rear. I can't wait to get the rims on the Q. I will post pics once I get them on...hope it's worth it.

all interested members should go to http://www.bridgestonetire.com...=1013

225 carries with it a 94W 235 has 96W, and both are listed for OE fitment on the Z car.

then notice on http://www.tiresafety.com/size_class/size_nav2.htmthe load index chart.

The OE 350Z tires would not be overloaded.

Speed ratings can be found at http://www.tiresafety.com/size...a.htm

Thanks for the links, very good info - I'm good to go. The rims / tires are rated at over 1400 lbs each. I'm gonna be going nuts until I get these next week. I'm chasing every 350Z I see trying to get next to them and pray for a red light...how gay is that....

Rims are on and they look ppphat - I will clean up the Q and post pictures tomorrow. I had 225/55/ZR16 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's on my 16in OEM rims and these are 17in Potenza's with 225/50/17's on the front and 235/50/17's on the back. These tires seem to be MUCH louder than the Michelins. Is it because the tires are bigger or because the Potenza's are a noisier tire - anyone know?? Oh yeah - just curious what the going price would be for the 98Q45t OEM rims with the Pilot A/S's, 14,500 miles on them. The rims have 63k miles on them and are in decent shape - I've got pictures if anyone is interested. Thanks,Chaz

Do post pics of your old wheels, pls. Also, depending on the wheel, one of the Z wheels at least is made by Rays Engineering, who also makes Volk Racing, Nismo, Mugen, Mazda Speed, STI, TRD, etc, etc.

Good buy!

To use the IMG tags it's "[" not "(", but it has to be "hosted" on the web already, see lessthanjakekjohn's first link. If it's less than 300x300 you can "Attach" bottom of New Reply screen.

You have to upload the pics onto the internet first. YOu CANNOT link pictures from your Hard drive.

Put your pictures in a free photo album like Yahoo photos or something like that and give us the link. Otherwise, you can start a Cardomain site and upload pics there. http://www.cardomain.com

Thanks fred - so easy to do...pictures of the Q with the 350Z rims are now posted on the members rides site - I also put pictures of my 98 OEM rims that are now for sale. The rims are dirty - but I will clean them up before shipping - make an offer as I need to get these out of my garage...I don't have enough room with the motorcycle, waverunner, riding lawnmower and 2 vehicles to keep covered....Thanks again Fred -
