Ive been on the hunt for a weekend driver sport car for a bit and first i fell in love with the 350z and realized that they were closely related to the g35, i prefer the look of the 350z hard top, tried one (automatic 2005 but i want a manual transmission) and liked it, but i like the interior of the g35, and with a bit of ext. mod they look incredible, what are the performance differences on a track is there a big difference? im looking for used 2003 - 2004, i need consultants. Thanks!

No, they perform pretty much the same on the track, which is very good. The main difference is the styling and that the G has rear seats. I use my 03 350Z at the track regularly. You really can't go wrong with either one

is the 350 any ligher? My dad drives the g35, and that thing is really heavy. Even though my 240 has small suspension mods, it corners better than the g35. I prefer my 240 over it. I havent taken the g35 to the track as yet though.

The G might be a tad heavier than the Z but it's not enough that you'd notice a big difference. But compared to the 240sx, it's much heavier. I used to have a stock 240sx that I took to the track regularly. You'll find the 240sx will feel a little more nimble in the slow twisties than the G, but the G has considerably more torque as well as about twice the horsepower. The G/Z also will feel more stable at triple digit speeds than the 240. (there is also a 118mph speed limiter in the 240sx) I personally enjoyed the extra concentration required to coax speed out of the old 240sx on the track, but the lack of grunt was frustrating at times. So IMHO both are equally fun to drive fast but in different ways.

I guess in that case, Id go with the g35. +1 for trunk space, and another point for haulin the kids in the back seats. Oh yeah and the '03 6MT's came with brembo's. I just remembered, a few months back the Dealer quoted my pops at 19k for a his '03 6MT with 7k miles (he wanted to trade it in for the g37) I think he was lookin to get around 28k. If you are interested hit me up

I wish it were true about the 03 6mt's coming with Brembo's, but that's false. It was standard on the Track model, and an option on the touring. My touring model with a 6mt came with non-brembos. I'm in the process of putting bigger brakes on mine right now.

I believe n00b240 was talking about 6MT G35's. All 6MT '03 and '04 G35 coupes came with Brembos. In '05 they no longer offered the Brembo brakes as an option. When I bought my car I was planning on buying new, however I ended up finding out I couldn't get the larger brakes with the '06, and ended up buying a barely used '04.

I've test driven the 350z and G35c back to back. In the end, I went with the G35c due to the practicality. In terms of performance, the difference was hardly noticeable on a regular street. I ended up autocrossing my G35c a few times, and it held its own, considering I was still on dying OEM shocks. My G35c autocrossing

The Z is faster,handles better,more of a race car.The G35 is like a touring car,sure it runs,but it's really meant for crusing.Good luck!!!
